My kids want a dog, but we lost our dog to Lymphoma 4 years ago. It was very painful and expensive. Don't want to go through the pain of losing another animal.

My cat was sick for a couple of days. Took him to Vet and he's been there for 2 days. He can't eat or go to the bathroom. Vet thinks it is kidney failure. Doesn't look good. He is only 8 years old. He is part Persian.
