Dogs or Cats?

I've grown up my whole life with dogs. As I get older I've noticed a lot of people with cats. So I was wondering what I should get next a dog or a cat?

I was inspired to write this post after reading Spark's post - Facing my Mortality. http://www.mylot.com/comment/2835741/16769871/24496832 I will not want my mind to age the way my body does. Although there may be disadvantages...
