mat_kind fat32 works fine with vista the drive may be showing signs of failure i would suggest backing it up and running diagnostics tools

mat_kind if your experienced you could replace the thermal paste with artic silver this will decrease the temp by a lot also get a can of conmpressed air and remove any dust

mat_kind the best and cheap way to increase the overall proformance is to add more memory (ram) opening and closing programs will be quicker and the pc will have a quicker reaction to whatever you do, if you have spyware you will see a big benefit by removing it all...
