How do you remember words?

I wonder how sometimes I can remember a word I hardly ever use, years after learning it for the first time, yet I forget those I came across recently and actually wish to remember. This is especially true for non-native speakers....

So I wasn't active on mylot for past 3-4 days. I was actually having my exams and of course I didn't study before time so I has to mug up in these days I missed mylot a lot and now I'm back again

Morning! I got on this morning and I did not make the goal I wanted to make of 1.25 I am at 1.23 right now I am going to go for 1.45 by tomorrow morning. That is .22 I am sure I can do it at least I hope so.
