What type of things do you like to do on your birthday?

It is my 26th birthday coming up in the next week. I have about 10 or more friends asking me seperate things to do. So, I need to come up with about 10 things to do. I am not asking anyone suggestions. I am really wanting to know what you would like to do on your birthday? Things you enjoy doing to celebrate your old age :)

I can't come up with 10 things I would like to do on MY birthday. I guess the usual. I would first treat my family to a quiet dinner. Then, the next day or weekend (I usually celebrate my birthday in a span of a week), I would go to the orphanage to spend some time with my favorite charitable institution. Then, I would treat my close friends to a cool place I could think of. Finally, I would treat my students and co-teachers. That's the same old thing I would do to celebrate my birthday and I had been doing this for 3 years now. I never got tired of doing these things. Happy myLotting and happy birthday in advance!

Oh, my. I thought that the Americans do it the way Filipinos do. Wherein it is the celebrant who spends for the birthday bash. This idea was triggered by news on tv as to how Britney Spears and Paris Hilton did it. I seems they spent such a sizeable amount then. They also showed Lindsay Lohann's.

Wow. I have never heard of anyone who treated others to dinner on their own birthday. Very interesting. If that is what makes you happy, keep on doing it! :)

I guess, you learn something new everyday, holds true to this. Interesting. In america, we are greedy and expect our friends and family to pay for everything. :P It is only because they won't let it be otherwise. If I told my family I was taking them out on my birthday they would laugh at me, as if it was a joke. That is nice though, I think that is a good way to spend your birthday :) thanks for the information. That is really interesting.

i don't do things on my birthday to give way to other people's requests. it's my birthday so, i want to be happy on my day the way i want it to be done.
i don't really have big parties for people. i am not that rich to do so anyway. and maybe even if i have the money to spend on parties, i will still try to make my birthday simple.
usually, i cook for my parents, siblings and closest friends. we just have dinner together and talk about anything and everything we wanna talk about. and that's just how i celebrate my birthday. and i am already happy about it.

My birthdays are celebrated with not much ado. I just stay home and if friends come, everyone in the family helps in entertaining guests. My children will cook spaghetti, grill pork chops, barbecue some chicken or maybe pork plus rice and fish. Softdrinks like coke, pepsi and sprite are made available throughout the day. If no friends come (I don't invite anyone) the food gets to be consumed on the following day yet.

Very nice. I enjoy to hear people who aren't asking for something. I enjoy all responses don't get me wrong, but to say you want "nothing" on your birthday. Kind of shows character. two thumbs up bud! :)

I would usually go out for a meal and a few drinks with all my friends together or invite them over to my house for some rather than doing a load of seperate things over time.

This would normally work. But I am getting old and all my friends work a lot of random serperate hours. So, to sit there and try to wait for a day we can all get together. Would take a LONG time lol.

Happy birthday to you. Hope you have a enjoyable time.
For my birthday, I just hope I do not end up alone on my birthday else I will sleep through the day. I have friends who took the day off from work. I prefer to be kept busy as most of the times, my birthday falls on a working day, and my friends would be working in the day time, leaving only the night. I will just like to have a happy time together with my pal.

Indeed. Thank you for the happy birthday. I agree with "not being alone" I think that would be really sad to miss your birthday, because you slept in. lol. I hope this doesn't happen to me or you. :)

My idea of the perfect birthday is that no one can fight and all friends that don't get along, etc have to put it on hold for one day. I take the time to look nice, put on nice clthes and makeup. I enjoy going to a nice dinner surrounded by my friends where everyone is laughing and having a great time. I'll have one drink too many and be on that slightly tipsy high, you all know what I'm talking about. Then I want to sleep in the next morning while someone else takes care of the baby and have a long bubble bath. Now that is the perfect birthday. Who cares what directions all of your friends are pulling you in! Do what you want to do, it only comes around once a year!

I have to jump on that topic of "friends not fighting" I have one too many friends who fight every day, I just wish for one day. Preferrably my birthday, no one have a conflict. Just get over your petty hate and be happy. Thank you :) I hope this happens for me, as well, for you.

On my birthday we usually (me and my bf) invite some friends over for dinner and some drinks. We always have a good time coz this is one of the few times that all people actually will show up, and it is nice to have alot of friends gathered. During daytime, usually my family comes over for some cake and stuff like that =)
Happy birthday in advance

i like to try new restaurants and different types of food. i live in a household of 4, and not everyone likes the "sound" of some of the places i want to eat at. but on my birthday I get to choose no matter what! lol and everybody just has to try and find something on the menu they like!

LOL, might as well drop my greetings here. Advance happy birthday to you. I normally celebrate my birthday as quietly as possible. A little gathering of few close friends and my family will do. I prefer to celebrate outside rather than at my house since I don't have enough time to keep hopping around to check on the preparation of food. Our birthdays come only once a year, I deserve to have a day of not doing anything at all. :)

My birthday is just after the holiday season, so we just celebrate it in advance. On the day itself, I'm usually alone after having gone back to the city from the holidays. The things to do would depend on how much money I have. Assuming I've got a lot, I've always wanted to celebrate my birthday in an orphanage, sort of throw a children's party with them, complete with clowns, cake, and balloons. That would take up most of the day, but I can still go out at night with my friends, a bit of bar hopping and dancing, generally having fun. After the parties, the following day would be a day of pampering. So that's a good massage at a spa then I'd buy myself a few good reads and head back home.
By the way, advanced happy birthday!

I don't know who started the tradition but in England people take in cream cakes to the office with them to share their birthday at work. There are a lot of people where I work so we have adapted it to sweets/chocolates. It helps keep everybody happy and the work flowing more easily.
I am old enough now that it is a pleasure to stay in and I would like nothing better than a day at home with my close family waiting on me hand, foot and finger. (Fat chance.)Perhaps a while to chat on MyLot too. Sounds boring as hell but bliss to me.
I hope you remember some of your celebrations after being blotto for so long! LOL

I enjoy eating out at a favorite restaurant. That, for me is really a treat. I also like going to see a live show. I live near New York City and there are lots of shows to choose from. When I was younger and single, I would just go out dancing with my friends.

I normally go out on a weekend for my birthday. This way most if not all of my friends will be able to attend. Drinking and partying the night away is usually part of the agenda. However, the things we do beforehand changes every year. I've done activities like going to a theme park, go karting, bungey jumping, paintballing, comedy club, bar-b-cue, meal out, all day drinking or just video games at home. Its so expensive to go for a night out in town nowadays plus I'm now 35 so this year will likely be a house party. Birthdays are now an excuse for a get together with friends.
Whatever you do for your birthday just make sure you enjoy yourself. I normally make sure that I go home at the end fo the night still slightly sober enough to be able to remember everything I did and that I had a great day with friends. After all, that is the aim isn't it? Advance Happy Birthday.

I'm old too so you know it takes a lot of energy to celebrate my birthday. It's just so hard to even blow out all of the candles on my cake LOL. Since I'm so popular ;) I have to celebrate my birthday for about a week.
On my actualy birthday my family gets a cake and we eat that. They sing to me and give me cards and small gifts. Then on the weekend my friends want to do something. So we get together for lunch or dinner at my house and of course another cake.
My hubby likes to take me out to buy me my present alone. We usually go out to eat too. My church family usually has a little lunch out or something for me.
As you can see, eating is the main topic for my birthday. Well it is for my life too. Food, especially birthday cake (don't forget the ice-cream) is sooo good!
Happy Birthday!
