I LOVE Star Trek! Every single one of them! Of course the first Star Trek with William Shatner is a classic...wonderful episodes...my first introduction to the sci fi genre! I loved Star Trek Deep Space Nine, The Next Generation, etc. They are all so great! Gene Roddenberry was a genius! I just love watching all of these shows. The one I was a bit disappointed in is the newest Star Trek...the one with Scott Bakula as captain. It was supposed to be BEFORE William Shatner and them. I just really never could get too into that series, but I still watched it. I liked to look at stuff and see if I could find little mistakes or nuasances that are missed. :) Any other Trekkies out there???

Like you I grew up watching the original Star Trek. In many ways it shaped how I saw things in the world. It taught so many lessons without shoving them down our throats. It showed me that there shouldn't be a difference between races or gender. That all should be treated equally. Gene Roddenberry foresaw so much in techology, some things we are seeing happening now in our world. He actually had some medical companies contact him wanting to know who leaked information about things they were testing to him. When Next Generation came out I was leery. I admit it. I was afriad they were going to try to redo the storylines and the characters just with new actors. I was thrilled when it wasn't like that. I loved the new characters, the actors and the storylines. It was fantastic. I got into Deep Space Nine and Voyager a bit late but I did enjoy them as well. I was disappointed in Enterprise though. They changed too many things in the history of Star Trek, from knowing what Romulans looked like to having the view screens. It also seemed to be lacking in something I cannot put my finger on. Just seemed to be missing the unity that the other shows had in my opinion.

Yeah I gave up watching Enterprise after a few months. I just couldn't get into it. My brother watches it but not me. I'll skip on it.

Yeah. We're out there ... somewhere ... I grew up watching TOS. I also watched TNG when it first came out, but while at first, I didn't enjoy it as much, it did sort of grow on me. While Best Of Both Worlds was probably the most popular, I think by my member name, you can probably take a guess at which end-of-season cliffhanger was my favorite. It was the same reaction towards Deep Space Nine, especially when Michael Ansara, John Colicos, & William Campbell was brought back in their TOS roles in that episode, Blood Oath. It was when they brought Worf into Deep Space Nine that I REALLY began enjoying it. Voyager, I kind of felt the same way. I did not really care much for the way they ended Voyager, but DarlingGirl (who posted here already) even pointed out a lot of things that they should have included in the ending. Enterprise, where it was supposed to take place BEFORE TOS, uh ... I don't remember much of it because I slept through every episode. As for the movies, I did enjoy all of them, although Star Trek: Generations, was - well - only a least favorite of mine, probably because of the destruction of the Enterprise, & Kirk dying in it.

I liked the original Star Trek when I was a kid but never really watched again later. My husband is a huge Trekkie. He loves all the reincarnations of the show and the movies. He especially likes The Next Generation and Voyager. He watches all the reruns.

At one time, I considered myself a trekkie. I think they ran the idea into the ground with Enterprize and DS9. I used to love the original series and the Next Generation and even Voyager. But I really think they should have stopped there. I do believe Gene Roddenberry was a genius, but he didnt have anything to do with DS9 or Voager or Enterprize other than creating the original idea. Take care!!

We watched this show for a while when I was little my mom liked it. Then the Star Ship Enterprise one with Captian John Luke Picared. I liked that one. I actually liked that one alot! I wish it was on now at a convienent time. We used to watch it every week as a family and I think my kids would like it too, so it would be a fun thing to share. You know what other show we'd watch faithfully as a family? The Muppets. They should do new ones of those too.

HI! Glad to see you've decided to come out into the community and declare your Trekdom. Yes, I am a...Trekkie (thought I'm snotty and prefer "Trekker", heh heh hehe. I still adore and continue to find nuances that I never noticed in The Original Series (mostly due to the new DVDs that make seeing them much more clear and true to color.) I must admit for a fondness for William Shatner and Patrick Stewart. As Captains they both did a great job. I'm also a fan of several actors on other Star Trek series, Like Rene Auberjonois (awww..sic) and Robert Duncam MacNeill, and the fellow who played Trip..I'm afraid I don't know everyone's names, but they are all dear to my heart. I tend to dwell a lot on the Kirk/Spock relationship, it being the one thing that really made my day as a kid. I don't enjoy slash, but prefer the lighter side of their relationship. Private chats (such as were seen in the latter Star Trek films with Kirk and Spock) delighted me no end. I am a member of the William Shatner Fan Club, and post on his bboard once in a while. I also post on http://www.startrek.com community bboard under Star Trek The Original Series. It's fun getting to know your fellow Trekkies on the web, and sometimes I truly fell a part of a larger community on the web. Occasionally we gather for entertainment - sometimes to see fellow Trekkies at work (as entertainers) or to meet at conventions. I attend one con every few years or so, usually to meet an actor. I like talking to them, meeting them, and occasionally collect a picture and signature. For me, really, it's all about the acting...I don't know why. I agree with Emerald that Next Gen was not my cup o' tea for a long time, but now I accept it as readily as I would STOS. I lied Voyager a little, DS( for fun, and Enterprise- well, I think everyone agrees that it left us quite flat. I'll be posting a little Star Trek related news in a day or two...stay tuned!

Well done for standing up and admitting you have a problem, do you attend STA? Star Trek Anonymous? Hey don't worry you are not alone. Because me too am a Trekkie BUT I only watch Voyager, that is my favourite, only because the captain is a woman and 7 of 9 is hot hot hot! I can't stand Next Generation and I haven't watched the others, well apart from the original. We are Star Trek Anonymous resistance is futile ;0)

I've been a Star Trek fan since the first shows back in the 60s; I was just a little kid and was allowed to sit up with my dad to watch them. I've seen all the originals many times, and enjoyed The New Generation and Voyager. Haven't seen either Deep Space Nine or Enterprise; I hear I'm in for disappointment but figure they can be as bad as reality shows!
