no matter how I try to be nice here on mylot

Hello,zelmarq,it is a normal thimg to have fluctuating rating in mylot,it is something we may not be able to control,but I am sure your rating will be increased soon as long as you keep up with good quality replies. I do not know whether someone is marking you down intentionally.I will mark you postive to your replies and discussions. Good luck

Personally, I wish they would get rid of this whole star and rating thing. Its too easy to get revenge on someone and I know for a fact that it is done. I am sorry that it has happened to you. I never rate anyone negative unless they have broken the rules. Just because someone does not agree with you is no reason to rate them negative.

You're still a 9. When I started out on here I first got my star and I was a 3, I thought I was going to die. The only time I give someone a bad rating is if they reply to my post with something that doesn't make any sense at all or that is extremely insulting to me personally. I've never given you a negative rating if that makes you feel any better! :)

I was a 10 for a long time. Recently, I've posted some discussions that were more serious and not as popular as a lot of others. As a result, over one night my star dropped from a 10 to a 9. But that was 4 days ago. I have seen people post angrily about their star ratings go down, but I didn't want to go that route. It truly doesn't bother me. And by commenting on it I feel that I would play into the hands of the negative ratings and stoop somewhat to their level. I'll go back to some of your old discussions and reply so I can try to boost your rating back up, OK? Good luck!

II also was a ten till yesterday and all I do is try to cheer every one up and bring people from out of their depression into happy mode. Well obviously some one wanted to make my day worse. I was having a really bad day of it too, including my husband who lives 6,000 miles away losing his job and I am not there able to comfort him. So we can pine here together for our blue star lol. I always rare every one positive..Hugz

I don't know you, but this discussion caught my eye and got me interested enough to look at your profile. You have a large number of discussions which have been copied from various sources, and it's very possible that someone gave you negatives for those. People do report violations of the guidelines, so it might be a good idea to use the hint and clean up your act instead of complaining. "I hope it makes you happy. Well, a truth that there are people who have this crab mentality and try to pull people down." That kind of thing just makes you sound like a whiney child. The difference between ten and nine isn't that important for anyone to get so bent out of shape. I'm not rating you at all, so you don't have to worry that I'm here just to "pull you down."

well I guess that I am just a great girl because I rate everyone with a + because I think that we are here giving are blood,sweat and tears. there has been about three that I gave a - to but that was because they were just mean to a person about their discussion and that was wrong because the person was reaching out for help and the post that I gave a - to was just being hateful. but I give you a +.

I don't fully understand the rating system or star system here so I refuse to fret it. I don't over much care if I stay a '9' for my MyLot life, I will chat, make friends, and get paid. There are negative spammers in here, there are little cliques in here. MyLot staff have mentioned the former, and I've personally seen evidence of the latter. There are also folks here that have skins so thin that they give peaches the look of round tanks. When one posts on a public or semi-public forum, they set forth to swim in a microcosm of the globe at large. All the elements of the globe are here. We've 'snarks', people with quirks, people with attitudes, and people with extreme political points of view. Sometimes, it can be a risky place. Star-bumps are a risk one takes when one takes on this microcosm. I wouldn't have it any other way.

My dear friend pls dont feel disappointed.You're not alone in this.Perhaps every one of us recieved that negative rating no matter how hard we tried.Sometimes whats best for us isn't best or good to some people.Don't feel bad.Keep going and dont be discouraged.Think that this is life and here in this world it's hard to please everybody.Just like the song goes "I did my best but i guess my best wasn't good enough.":)We mylotters came from different walks of life therefore its normal that we have different beliefs and opinions too.:)

Mine went from a 10 one time down to a 9. To my knowledge I didn't get any negative ratings at all. But during that time, I had trouble getting into myLot to respond to some of my discussions I had started and participating in the usual amount of discussions I participated in. I really thought that number had to do more with quality posts and participation than negative ratings. Once I got back involved more, my 9 changed right back to a 10.

I'm sorry for being under-educated on this subject but I have not spent a long time on MyLot yet... How do you know if someone gives you a negative rating, a positive rating, or even reports your comment? I thought the rating had to do with a combination of the above plus the number of interesting topics posted to, the amount of your posts, length and value of them, the number of "chosen best" responses, etc. ??? Please share what you know of how the system works if I am wrong - as I am only guessing here. Thank you, and I'm sorry that you feel people are rating you negatively. I have a nine too - do people earn more with higher star?? I am not here for the earnings but I am curious as to how this all works.

I don't think you should bother about that rating thing. Mylot administrators have said that ratings only reflect what mylot users think of you and you know many people don't even bother giving + and - to discussion. And even if someone was tracking you down and wilfully giving you negative rating, he will only be happy when he sees your discussions like this one, he will feel that he is succedig in his quest to upset you. Instead of that, if you just concentrate on doing the good job that you were doing, he'll eventually get bored and stop this. By starting discussions like this, you are only making him feel superior.

I would not worry about that. Some people never seem to forgive. Just do your best and Move forward.

i understand your feelings.i experienced it too.after a lot of hard work finally i reach to 8.but just after 2 days my rating went down to 7.and after a few weeks i am still at 7 only. i never give anyone negative rating.but i do not understand why people gave me negative rating.some are just jealous of it.i didn't agree on someone's opinion about something.well i was on the truth side. so i guess that person do not like my opinions and just rate me negative.even if i do not agree with someone's opinion i do not give negative rating to that person.there is nothing wrong if others have different point of view than yours.it is impossible everyone have the same opinions as you.i think this kind of person is just very offended person why cannot we just help each other by giving some postitive feedbacks??sometimes it is just unfair to that person.imagine if it happens to you,what would you feel??just be sporting man and accept other different opinions.try to be more understanding about others

Don't worry Zelmarg, After this discussion no one would rate you Negative.I would like to tell you that I have a strong 'Sixth Sense' and according to my 'Sixth Sense' no one will rate you Negative. !!! BELIEVE ME !!!

Im new so im not too sure what the rating system is could someone please elaborate.
