Oh dear, can't the humans that feel that God wants them to kill others, is not God, but the devil? How blind they are. God is pure, life, love, compassion, and help. The evil one is death, confusion, greed, power, and hurtfulness. No matter what culture or belief one has, this is true. Don't you agree? So then why do people kill in the name of God?

Killing in the name of God gives poeple justification for killing. God is thought of as good, therefore killing in His name is also good. That is the fallacy of that kind of thinking. People generally don't like to kill each other unless thay can make it seem right to themselves. Using God's name gives them the false idea that killing is a good thing to do. I would rather leave the devil out of this equation, simply becasue I do not believe a devil exists. To the degree man does not love himself, he is farther away from goodness.

Very well said...and I agree there is no Christ or Antichrist. Good and bad exists in all of us, it is those undisciplined who hide behind some idiotic religion to "justify" what they are doing - as they are too wimpy and needy to take responsibility for their own actions.

Oh yes I do agree with what you are saying here that the war is not in the name of our Lord, but in the name of the Devil, as unfortunately he has done his evil work on the minds of others and unfortunately they fall to what he wants them to do, I am lucky that me and my husband are followers of the lord not of the devil. Like you are saying here it does not matter what religion or what that these people belong to your conscience which God gave to us humans should tell us right from wrong. God Bless xx

No war in the history comes under the interests of the general public of that country/nation/region. It is the rulers decision on their own interests. But the sufferers are the general public. The rulers in every culture, everywhere are a special creed and power is something makes everyone mad.

That is such a good question! I have never understood it myself. I think some of it might have to do with the Old Testament where some people felt they were told by God to kill others. (There are several places like that.) Maybe they think God is continuing to tell them to kill. I believe Jesus changed that. But that is my belief.

I really wonder what goes through the mind of many people in this world. People are really delusional if they feel that God would want us to kill people. It is sad how twisted people have become and seems to be getting worse. Many of us realize it is the devil that makes people do such things. Apparently some people do not believe in God or they feel that the Devil is their God.

You are right about that because there is nothing so godly about that at all. I think they are just crazy.

It is because each religion has different god . and the followers do not like the idea of god being one and the same for all.Though many religious heads may say that all gods are one yet they bever fail to emphasize that their own god is the one for salvation

Yes but God also said an eye for an eye and that is what results in a war, terriorists come and run there planes into our towers and kill thousands of innocent people of course we are not going to site back and take it we are going to do what we have to to protect our country and its people that is common sense and respect for our country. killing is evil but it was done way back in the book of exodus can't remember the exact chapter but it was also done to protect the country side...so yes war is forgiven...no country should stand and be terriorised without taking a stand to end it.

How many wars and conflicts can be linked to religious divisions, the desire to make others "conform", to steal or conquer from others, etc? How much hate and intolerance exists, even among people of the SAME locations, racial and ethnic backgrounds BECAUSE of differing ideas about religion?
Let's see, there were The Crusades, initiated by Catholics.
There were Hitler's genocidal acts. He was Catholic.
There were the acts against Paganism and perceived "witches" for lack of conformance by some people to a forced religious idea.
Native American Indians were slaughtered for their land and expected to conform to the religious goals of America's early settlers who came here to break away from religious oppression.
There are conflicts and violence taking place at abortion clinics in America originating from Christians and other religious groups.
I won't give much attention to the obvious current occupation and unnecessary killing of innocent people in the Middle East under the guise of "goodness" while the "culprit" of attacks against the US remains unscathed and free.
Every week or so I read about a woman brutally murdering, mistreating, or maiming her child or foster children because she believed her "God" wanted her to, or she interpreted something from the "bible" to cover her vicious acts.
Seems to me that without religious brainwashing, there would still be conflicts and deaths, but much less wanton murder in the name of "religious divisions" we buy into due to our lack of intelligence - that is "ok" to do if you are of a "certain faith", but considered barbaric terrorism if you are of some "other group". One way or another, those nasty "heathens" (insert name of any group that is NOT yours here) will open their eyes to "the truth and the way", they will "see the light".
Having "religion" seems to equate to doing the exact opposite of what most religions supposedly teach = respect and care of others. Better off without it.

Oh yes, I agree whole-heartedly. I am not particularly religious in the conventional sense. I tend to see the teachings of all great spiritual teachers being twisted and distorted for power over others. And it's always seemed to have gone on.
Countries have been invaded, and the natives of those countries killed, enslaved or forced to accept mere beliefs that are supposed to have been the teachings of that religion's master that has been twisted for power and gain. Did any master ever teach such things?
To me, true religion is a way of life, where compassion and support is extended to others. And forgiveness given when mistakes are made, simply because we all make mistakes. I have always thought about the sort of world we would have if people would simply let go of their egos and stop thinking they knew what was best for the rest of the world. If they would just look, they would see that with everybody working together, there is more than enough resources for everyone. And anyway, what's the point, we are all only here temporarily - we own nothing, even our body will one day be dust, because it belongs to the physical universe.

I completely agree with you. As for your question as to why still people kill in the name God, I think its because they are stupid and cannot see the simple truth.

Many things are done in the name of religion. It is something that has repeated itself over history. We seem to be stuck and it doesn't get much better. Wish we could learn the real deal. Will be neat to see what others have to say.

i live in a country of many religions but at times there is war in the name of god. I just hate those people who kills others in the name of god, no religion in the world allow the man to kill the other person or the person of different religion, to kill the others is i think is against humanity.
