In A Buffet, When You Go For The 2nd Serving, Do Use A Fresh Plate OR.....??

Well normally they do not allow fresh plates as in a buffet the charges are based on the number of plates but it can be used once you have explained the situation to the Hotel Management incase the waiter takes the plate before u have finished but i normally do not change plates for the second helping unless and untill it is for deserts where u r handed a fresh plate anyways.

I always get a new plate. I dont think that they are suposed to allow you to take a dirty plate back to the buffet. In my state, I believe that theres a health violation for a restaraunt to allow you to use your old plate. Take care!!

I don't really like buffets. The food just isn't as good as when it is cooked for you and then brought to you by a server. Which is certainly more relaxing too! But when I do go to a buffet, I always use a clean plate. The server says you have to because of health codes.

Usually I will use the same plate but it is dependable on what I had during the first serving. If the first serving have too much sauce on it then it will screw up the taste of the second serving then it will be the right thing to do . If you change fresh plate every serving it would be troublesome for staff and I always be considerate of them as well.

Hello,djdeep81,when i am going for the second serving in the buffet, i will of course use a fresh plate if there are new plates provided,there is no point to use the old one as it may be very messy which some food remains or sauces are still on the plate, it may affect the appetite of other customers,so it is better to use a new one.

i always get a new plate!! I usually go through maybe 2-4 plates depending on how good the food is and how hungry i am lol

Yeah, same here. I think it is intended for you to get a new plate everytime. So, I just do accordingly everytime.

I don't eat at many buffets anymore but I always get a fresh plate.

I still used the same plate.Usually when the waiter/ waitress comes by to get me plate I then refused instead I get my second serving again.lol
