I LIVE for that. I have my "puter" on as we speak (Obviously duh) and the TV is about 8 ftt away and I can do both quite well. ( I can multi task with the best of them LOL ).
I am one of those people that has to be doing something all the time. If I just sit to watch TV, I would fall asleep 10 mins. in to the program. If I am on the computer I can stay up til 10: or 11PM before my head hits the Keyboard and I offend someone. LOL Watch out for those late late night posts I do. LOL

I suppose it is more appropriate to say that I LISTEN to television. The TV is in the same room with my computer. If I were to just sit and watch tv I would probably fall asleep. In fact, I was falling asleep tonight until I got up and got on the computer.
I am a multi-tasker as well. I am on the computer, watching tv and doing the weekend crossword puzzles all at the same time. Laundry is usually running in there too.

So true! It's weird. A few years ago I would watch a TV episode start to finish with rapt attention. Now I'm bored if I am not also on the computer, and the phone, etc etc etc LoL

I switch them both on first thing in the morning and they both stay on until I go to bed. Doesn't bother me a bit.

I am all the time - I have a laptop and tend to have it on my bed most of the time, I also have a TV in my bedroom which sets on a dresser. When setting or laying on the bed with laptop on my lap the TV is in direct line with my computer screen so as I'm typing this I'm also watching "Coach". I can't seem to do just one thing :)

I watch TV while I'm on the computer all the time. It doesn't bother me. I like to keep my mind busy. If there's nothing on the actual TV I just go to the cbs, nbc, abc, or whatever station website and watch the streaming TV episodes they all have now. That may come in especially handy over the summer when I don't have a TV anymore!

I don't watch TV at the same as being on the computer. Occasionally someone else in the family will have the TV on whilst I am in the background with the computer on. Then I would half listen.

I'm not a big tv watcher to be honest although it always seems to be on in our house! I can generally watch tv and type at the same time, although if there is something on that I want to concentrate on then I will shut it down or go elsewhere to watch it.

To be honest I'm not much of a TV watcher anyway...I would find it distracting...if I'm really in a fix about TV watching though I could always switch over and watch some programs especially ones I've missed on the computer..like Greys Anatomy..but alas..then I wouldn't get anything done one the computer! LOL

I do this all the time. In fact I would much rather be watching TV while on the net. I'm actually doing it right now! I get bothered more if I can't do that.
I don't know, even when I was in school I can't study without TV. I had to have some kind of noise in the background.

It would be kinda cool. I mean, I live the watch this one show, it is taped in Santa Monica, but only East Coasters can really particpate. So, if I could watch it online and play the same time, I would.

Even though my tv is in a seperate room I have to have it on at all times. I cannot stand silence and like to hear the background noise. Now if I really become entrenched in something on the computer sometimes I have to get up and turn it down. However, that does not happen to often. I try to keep things simple for my simple mind. Haha.
