I just love shopping at the 99 cent store. I try to go as much as possible. They have so many great deals. I know that there is not one everywhere, but I believe that they are throughout California. I like to shop there with people from other countries. It is so much fun to watch them get excited about all the different things that are sold there for only 99 cent. The thing that I like most about the ninety-nine cent store is that there is always something new to choose from. This also happens to be the thing I like the least. You buy something once and think that it will always be there and then you go back the next time and it is no longer there. I have found some amazing deals there, like my USB cable for my printer and my favorite toothpaste. I like Ultra Brite, but when I went earlier this week i forgot to pick some up, so today I purchased a tube at Vons for $1.59. I was not a happy camper, but it will be a while before I go back to the 99 cent store, so I figured, I better get it there.

I don't think we have any 99 cent stores here, but I live in the midwest, so I guess that's why. It sounds great though, so I wish we did! We do have lots of dollar stores though, so I guess that's pretty much the same. lol It's pretty amazing how much great stuff they have for such a great price. I love shopping there, and especially when they have some stuff 2 for a dollar. You'd think they would just have a bunch of low quality cheap type things, but they really have some good stuff. I always try to check there before buying things elsewhere so I can get the best deal! :)

When the 99 cent store first started out here, the quality of their stuff was not that good. You would see medication that had already expired and food that was stale and close to rotting. But they have improved 100% in the last few years. So much so that you will from all different income levels in there. Before there was mostly junk, now you can go and really feel that you are coming out with a steal, it is cool.

I don't yet have any children, but I can just imagine how excited they get when you announce that you will be going there. That is the kind of place that is fun for the whole family and easy on the pocket book.

i absolutely LOVE the 99 Cents Store. i also love the Dollar Tree/Dollar Store. They have such great deals on things. You can make up a whole care package for someone for so little! You spend $20 and come out with so much! Sometimes you can get things 2 or 3 for 99 cents and it is great!

In the UK we have £1 stores, which actually works out more expensive than your 99 cent stores. Still, given the ever increasing cost of living over here there's not much you can get for a £1, though you can get some really good stuff in the £1 stores! I like to get jiffy bags and craft/card making stuff, and sometimes the odd branded toiletries, and sweeties of course! You really do have to get what you want when you see it as like you say you may not see it again.

We do not have a 99 cent store in my area but we do have a Dollar Tree store. Thats one of my favorite stores, I love shopping there. They have a lot of name brand items for just a dollar. Since they have new items every week I always go there every weekend. They know my name now in that store. Last weekend I seen a three pack of hanes underwears for a dollar in the dollar tree. Now that was a great baragin.

I agree, I love these types of stores also. Here in Ohio we have a Dollar Tree, Dollar Deals, and a Everything is just a dollar store, there may be more, but these are the only ones I have discovered so far. I save a lot shopping at these stores, I can buy cleaning supplies, toiletries, toys, baby items, etc. and I save a considerable amount than if I were to buy these items at the Dollar General Store, Family Dollar or Walmart. With prices on everything go so out of control, and paychecks not getting fatter, we have to conserve as much as possible, and this is actually a fun cost effective way to do so. I like the fact that I can buy some name brand items there as well for just $1!! I recently found a great bargain at the Dollar Tree, they had Hanes t-shirts in sizes xs-2x in a million colors, and they even had various sized Looney Toons and Disney t-shirts all for just $1, cant beat that at all!!

I LOVE dollar stores. My favorite one is Dollar Tree, but it's really the same concept as 99 cent stores, only a penny more... They have some great stuff and it's especially fun to pick up little toys and such for kids. You don't spend a fortune, but at the same time you can give them a gift to tell them you were thinking of them. I also get gift bags, wrapping paper, tissue paper, etc there. At Easter time I go and stock up on all the bunny items that aren't obviously Easter related (no eggs or baskets) and then I can give them out when we do rabbit adoption events for the rescue group. I'm always amazed at the variety of items to be found, and since it's all $1 you don't have to worry about blowing your budget!

We have a similar store here, called Dollar tree, everything is a dollar, or two for a dollar. I don't buy toothpaste there, lately I have read the warnings that the toothpaste that comes from these stores may have a name brand on them, but they are produced in another country that does not have the FDA like we do, they do not have flouride and are not as safe as our toothpastes, so I buy a lot of things at these stores, but not those type of items. You're so right, if you see it and you want it you better buy it then, b/c they go fast, they may or may not be there when you come back the next week. I've learned that the hard way. I love to buy my picture frames, flowers, what nots there also.

I like the 99 cents store and the dollar store. I like them because of the wide variety of items you can get there. I do not ever buy any parishable food there. My son in-law use to drive long haul trucking. The dollar store and 99 cents store buys frozen food and and cold food that has not stayed cold or frozen like it should have been. Sometimes when the trailors air conditioner goes out the food does not stay the temperture it needs to stay some stores cannot not sell the food so the 99 cents and dollar stores buys the food. There standards are not as strict. I do like the wide variety of dishes and storage items. I do like their books, I love to get an out of date autobiographic book for 99 cents. Like Rozie said you never know what you can get at the 99 cent store so you cannot depend on them to have the same items from week to week.

We have Dollar Stroes here in Oregon. I love them, you can get some really good buys if you look. They are also great for buying greating cards. Cards now days are outrageous. But at the Dollar Store, I can pick up 2 for a dollar. To me that's a real deal. There are certain things I won't buy at the dollar store, like their non brand cleaning stuff...it just doesn't work as well. Especially if I am mixing my own. Yep that's where to go for the bargains.

I certainly learned if I like it to get it right away or it wont be there when you come back. Thats funny I guess its like that no matter what state your in they are all the same.LOLHappy shopping

We also have a dollar tree here, that is the closest thing to a 99 cent store here in florida that I know of, but I do love going there, they are so cheap. I have to say that the quality of the products are not so well, but what can you do if that is all that you can afford.
