So lately my legs have been going crazy at night when I try to settle down for sleep them seem to be crawling (my skin) or just I need to kick them out or something and I do, but it never seems to help much until I just ignor it and finally, sometimes hours later fall asleep...weird huh? anyone else have this problem? think it could be that restless leg syndrom they are talking about on TV or just regular insomnia junk??

The best way I have found to help with restless leg syndrome is to go with the feeling of it. There is a superior way of relaxing where you consciously make sure you are not grasping any part of the body. There are levels to this as often you think you are relaxed but you're not. To feel the difference grasp the legs then release. You will feel tingling or heat. With restless legs there has been a continual grasping for many many years. You have become so used to holding your body in this tight way that you don't know you are doing it. To undo this you have to learn to let go. In the process of doing this there is the sensation of pins and needles. This can be so electric at times that it's unbearable. All you want to do is grasp again to stop the needles from coming out. Someone said they want to hang their legs out of from under the bedsheets. I used to do this as a way of cooling them down. It is a serious act of will to do this. To go against the grasping is to go against what you have been doing automatically for years. Over time it gets easier and easier and eventually it goes away. It happens at night by the way because it is at night that you relax, or start to relax to sleep. I am coming to understand that fibromyalgia is a similar problem. It's more painful as the grasping is greater. To undo this it's the same method. I hope it works for you.

It sounds like you have restless leg syndrome, I suffer from it also and can't get a good nights sleep with it, I just wander around or chat on mylot until I feel so tired I just drop off to sleep. I also suffer from chronic pain syndrome and arthritis so my nights of sleep are gone now and it is a toss up as to which one will keep me awake at night. Hope you get something that works to ease your legs, I have tried a lot of different medicine and pills to no avail, but there is always hope.

It sounds a lot like RLS (restless leg syndrome). The symptoms you described are similar and usually occur between the ankle and the knee. It does feel as if your skin is crawling and you have the constant need to move them about. There could be a number of causes, but doctors usually prefer to eliminate certain things from diet first like caffiene and nicotine which can aggrevate it. Also, if you have a vitamin deficiency, likely iron, magnesium and/or folate, then you should take vitamin supplements. After the changes and the vitamins, you can wait and see if the symptoms improve or disappear altogther. If not, there is now medication to control symptoms, but try these things first to see if they help.

Sounds like RLS. I often struggle with it. I end up doing stretching excercises (standing behind a chair and stretching up onto my toes). Or I jog in one place intill my legs get really tired. It does help for me, maybe you can try it.

I pray that all becomes well with your legs, and that you are able to sleep soundly. The best thing I've heard for it is a bar of soap under the sheets (near your legs)... Let me know if it works!

When I was a teenager I used to suffer from restless legs all the time. I dont know about when I was a kid though I cant remember. Right now suddenly I have been having it again. I usually spend a long time at night on the computer sitting in this chair and not doing anything but that. I know if you sit in one position for a long time before going to sleep that can be a cause of restless legs. I've always done this though so I'm not sure why it would just start bothering me again all the sudden.

Sounds to me like you have restless leg syndrome. I'd go get it checked out by a doctor, and get medication if it's bothering you that much.
