I have a BA in English and I also have a teaching qualifacation. Currently I am doing a distance course in creative writing. I aslo continue to read and learn as much as I can. I think even the elderly should continue to learn. The more a person knows the more interesting they become. Even those who can not afford to get a formal education should study and read as much as possible. After all, intelligence and education are not the same thing.

I have sometimes gotten some unkind and discouraging words about my desire to return to college and finish my degree, and become a nurse and linguist, in spite of my age. I say, age is only a number. What matters is how good one's health is and whether one is enjoying life. I have battled multiple disabilities all my life, and am working very hard to overcome all of them, and I plan to return to college as soon as I get all my ducks in a row. Never mind my age, or the age I will be when I finally return to college. You are very right about how even the elderly need to continue to learn. That is so true. Also, you are very right about how intelligence and education are not the same thing. I have not been physically able to finish my degree, but that does not make me any less intelligent. Many people get these two things confused. Yet, intelligence appears to be important in order to get the education in the first place. But, one can be quite bright and yet not have a college degree.

I finished college 26 years ago with a BS degree. I have been working on graduate work since 1988. I have changed schools several times & have not been able to get a degree together. I have about 80 hrs. grad work. I ran out of money a couple years ago so I'm waiting to start up again.

i am also in my sophmore year of college. I plan on getting my masters degree in criminal justice, i can't wait til the day i graduate! I will always try to keep learning throughout my life after i graduate. However, i don't think i'll go to college again because to me that would just be a wast of money (because i already have a job). But i won't every stop learning..
