I have signed up to do some mystery shopping. I just got my first assignment. (No, I won't tell you with who) lol. Have you ever done any mystery shopping. It's supposed to be pretty simple. Anyone have any suggestions? I really want to make sure I do it right so I will get more assignments. I'm afraid i will sound so nervous that they will know I'm a mystery shopper. lol

Hello, mssnow,i have not been a mystery shopper,as i know ,they may pay you good,if you can sign up for more, probably, you will earn good money. If you are assigned to 'work ' in some restaurants, not only you get paid from them, you can also enjoy the food there as you can claim back the amount of the bill you have there,it is pretty good. Just relax yourself and no one will know you are a mystery shopper or you will be kicked out of the door if they know you are the 'spy'lol.

And the extra money is food!! I bot bored with it though because it was always the same places they wanted me to go, like banks. Uuuggghhh...I didn't enjoy the bank shops =) Have fun!!

I signed up with some mystery or shadow shopping programs some time back but never did anything. My daughter has done the same and actually has made some money at it although not alot. I worked with a lady who did it a lot and said when she was doing it she made good money.

Just make sure when you move that you change your location with any programs you sign up with - it won't help you to get jobs that are miles and miles away :) The lady I worked with said she was making hundreds a week doing these but I don't know what programs or companies she worked with.

I do mystery shopping. I love it. I just got paid via paypal $30 the other day for 2 shops that I did. I tend to get nervous at first too. It really is all about details. Just go over your assignment right before you do your shop so you remember everything you are suppose to do. I always look at the report that needs to be completed also so I know the questions I will be answered. I don't think that the workers are even thinking about mystery shoppers coming in, so don't worry about them knowing you are a shopper. Good luck and have fun:)

Hi mssnow, I always wanted to do that I love to shop so I figure you might as well get paid or perks for it. There are so many scams so I do not know which ones are real. I posted a discussion trying to find out which ones are real and no one replied. Can you let me know which one are legit. Thanks

I have done mystery shopping for a chain of restaurants which is a good way to get free meals out. I wasn't very good at it because I would always forget the waitress name before I filled out the form. Also I would have to take my sons with me as they like you to order a child's meal as well as adult meals but as they always eat more than I do it would be me having the child's portion. I suggest you try and find off-line mystery shopping companies as well as online ones as they often pay better and provide more work.

Yes, i did it once and found it very interesting and enjoyed it well but i was also a bit nervous but managed it quite well since i am a regular shopper and tried to act as i am there to buy something for sure, since i have done many window shopping myself many times, i did't have any issues with it.

Its cool but not sure if they have them in the UK, Gabs, They pay you to shop. You send in a report after you are done. and get paid. Its so they can find out how good or bad the customer service is.

No I haven't done any mystery shopping, any that I have ever looked at want me to pay them something to do it. I won't do any that ask that of me. They must be free to join and do. Was yours free?

you have to watch gas on this one...If you are not having to drive too far its great but look out for the distances between locations or what you make will go in the gas tank...Also you have to pay taxes because you are considered an independant contractor....

You only pay taxes if you make more than 600 dollars per company. All I gotta do is shop with many companies and no0t go over the 600 dollar mark. As far as gas i ride the bus so My travel money is always the same

My husband and I did a lot of mystery shopping for a couple years, but a great deal of it was fast food shops and you had to order exactly what they told you, so no special orders. They reimbursed for the food, so it was like getting paid and a free meal, but in the end, we gave it up because we couldn't stand eating that much junk. Phone shops could be cool though :)

I've always thought it would be neat to be a mystery shopper. But I've never signed up for it. A friend of mine did it a couple of times and she said she had to go and purchase certain items and save the receipt. She would then get reimbursed for the purchases plus whatever amount they paid her for her time and paperwork she had to fill out. She had to observe the sales person, the cleanliness of the store, if there was a manager in view, etc.

I did a couple of mystery shopping assignments, but I didn't find it worth it. I had to buy something and then return it within the hour and then I had to fill out a report and the money was very little for all the time that was spent.

yeah some are like that. The ones I am doing now only pay 5 bucks but its only about 20 minutes of my time so its worth it and i dont have to leave my house to do them.

Wow that sounds like fun! I've never heard of that before. I doubt that they have that sort of thing here in our country... do you know some sites that are international? I would love to go mystery shopping. I'd have an excuse to hang around the mall or wherever on weekends! Just a question though, do you have to buy something or order something? And spend your own money?

My daughter has done this quite a bit and likes doing it. She's gotten lots of free meals out of it. My problem with doing it would be the fibs you have to tell sometimes. She's had to pretend to be looking for an apartment before to grade an apartment building...I wouldn't be able to tell the lies.

They probably won't guess you are a mystery shopper sweety - they are more likely to think you are a shoplifter! lol Seriously I think you will do fine and I would love to try mystery shopping but any opportunities I have came across have been in the states and since I am in Scotland it is a bit of a commute! Good Luck sweets - let us know how you get on! xxx

I have never done mystery shopping. I have thought about it but I don't want to be scammed. I would love to find a legitimate place to do this for. Let us know how this works for you. Just act like you are talking to a friend and you won't sound nervous at all.
