So my beautiful all white cat has seemed to gotten in my goodie bag last night where I had chocolate carmels for the children and he got it all over his tail, I have tried using soap and water to get it out, but it is still so sticky and won't come off, anybody have any suggestions??

How about ice? maybe getting it cold enough to harden would make it easy to come out. Last resort? Cut it out...

I imagine myself sitting in our chair together (like we always do, me petting him) holding ice to tail ... makes me laugh, thanks for that today, I think at this point I can going to try a few of the suggestions, they are all so wonderful. Thanks for responding, as always, it is truly appreciated.

Shave it? Really, that's all I can think of. It'll grow back quickly.

Funny ... I don't think I will go to that extreme, but thanks for responding, it is truly appreciated.

I would probably use vegetable oil and work it through. Comb it out with a flea comb. Either that, or let nature take its course, but that could be ugly. Do not let the cat eat the chocolate, as it is not good for them, and can overstimulate them, and kill them.

I would think that she would be able to get this off herself as cats are generally very clean . I am not sure that there is anything you are going to be able to try that is actually going to work and not make your cat upset with you for picking at her .
I know with gum they say that peanut butter will take gum out but this will still leave peanut butter all over your cat and then you would have to wash this off and cats generally hate being put in the tub .
I would just give her a couple of days and would imagine she will get it off herself . If not you could always try calling the vet just to get some advice from them on what you could try .
Best of luck !!

No, we don't want to give the kitty a bath, not a good thing, he was not happy that I took to cleaning his tail this morning, usually he does not like me messing with him. Thanks for the advice, I will wait a few days and see if he can get it off, he just looks so funny with is on his tail. Thanks for responding, it is always appreciated.

I've never had to deal with caramel in hair, but icing gum that's in hair helps pull it off painlessly. Maybe try icing the caramel and see if it will slide of the cat's hair.

Try peanut butter. The oils from the peanut butter will help remove the "goo", like in gum. To be honest, I have a feeling she will have to suffer with it for a while until she licks it all off herself. Pretend you're of the "elite" and took her out for caramel highlights to the pet beauty shop! LOL
