Do you read your Bible every day?

I read a chapter in Proverbs ( the same as the day of the week, for ex. today was 19th so I read Prov. 19). I read a Psalm,( I go by the last number of the day of the week, today was 19, so whereever I am I read, I think it was Psalm 79). Then I get on my computer and read todays reading on READ YOUR BIBLE THROUGH IN A YEAR. I feel I need to read my Bible every morning for that "gospel fuel" to make it through the day. This is a form of puttting on part of the Armor of God to help me with the battles thru the day with satan. How about you, do you read your Bible every day? and if so how do you do it?

Thanks. Someone has said that we should read various versions of the Bible for a good understanding of the Scripture. I already have three versions hoping to get the Amplified version before this year runs out.

Yes, it really does give us a source of strength to make it thru the day. God seems to know what we need to read to help us thru the day. I am so thankful you have made the decision to get back to reading your Bible. God bless you.

I do read some everyday [most days anyhow]. I have a read through the bible plan all set up in one book, also just have several bibles around the house. I have the free e-sword program on my computer, and I love it. You are right, it is the food for our spirits, so often the readings will give me something to think on all day. Christian music is also important for me during the day.

I read the Bible everyday, except when I am not well or get caught in a too busy schedule. I have tried to read the Bible systematically so that I finish the whole book at least once in a year. So far I have finished only thrice, but I just started only few years back this practice of covering the whole Bible from beginning to end in a year. I start of with Genesis 1, which is the beginning of creation. Then that same day I shall also read Ezra 1, the return from exile. And from NT I would read Matthew 1, the beginning of Jesus' story and then Acts 1, the beginning of the Church. So I read four chapters a day. I have heard that this is a practice which many God fearing Christians practice. I just follow the model set by some God fearing Christian leader.

That is a very good system to read your Bible. This year I chose to read my Bible through chronologically. I usually read from OT and NT every day but this year I have chosen to read it in order as it was written. It is interesting. Thanks for posting.

I do read Bible Chapters each day starting from the book of Matthew in the New Testament. Well, the way I do my daily Bible reading...I actually have my devotional book prepared so that way whenever I end up reading, I could easily remember it because I have taking notes from those previous Chapter and Verses that i've read already.

Taking notes really helps us remember more of what we read and helps commit it to our hearts. That is a great idea. Thanks for posting.

i tried to do that a few years back. i also read somewhere that if you read one chapter a day, then it would be 365 chapters in one year. i did finish the whole bible, lol! that's because what i have is just the new testament (is that cheating?) anyway, i think it's good for me though that i finished at least the new testament. it's just sad that i don't have a bible which has the old testament

That was one of my New Years Resolutions was to read completely thru the Bible this year. But, I haven't stuck to it. I tend to read things about what are happening in my life and the versus that I feel will help me the most. I don't read the Bible every day, but I'm almost always reading a Christian book. And, I pray a bunch thru the day.

Yes, prayer is very important too. I am sure the Christian books you read have Scripture in them too. It really is a boost for the day to read my Bible each day. Thanks for posting.

I wish I could say I read my Bible everyday. But I don't. Though your idea of how you read it is awesome way of doing it.
