Do you have a swimming pool?

We just got ours all ready today and are filling it up as I type. It will take quite a while to get it filled up. WE wanted it ready for Memorial Day weekend. Our grandchildren love it and our kids do too. Well, let me admit, I love getting in it too and relaxing. This will be my third grandbaby's first time to get in. We are excited to see what she will do. She is six months old. Do you have a pool?

Nope, don't have a pool, but wish I did. But my neighbor does, and I sometimes get in it, but not often.

No, wish we did though. We live in an apartment block and there are no pools except the public one that is about 10 minutes away. Your grandbaby is going to love the pool, my son loves the water!

I think she will too, my other 2 grandchildren love the water. They would stay in it all day long if we let them. They are usually swiveled up prunes by the time they get out. LOL And I am in there with them so I am an old dried up swiveled prune. LOL Thanks for responding.

We have a 4 ft deep, 16 ft diameter above ground pool. My wonderful hubby built a small deck, screened walls and a roof over it. Because of my difficulty moving he built steps down into it, instead of a ladder. All of the ladders we found to buy have the rungs way too far apart for me. We are getting it ready now for swimming season, though we will be gone for a few weeks. It will be easy to finish cleaning it when we get back from our trip, plus the sun will have heated it a lot. I love to exercise/walk in the pool.

Oh yes, wifeofharvey, that is where I got my best exercise was walking and doing other movements in the water. I got my 77 year old mama in there last year and it was reallly good exercise for her too. She loved it. She passed away in Sept so I will have some good memories when I get in the pool. Thanks for responding.

Unfortunately no, our terrace house has a tiny garden and in any case i think the weather in the UK is too cold for a pool unless it's heated, and to heat a pool i'd only want to use that heat exchange technology otherwise it would be really expensive! I do love swimming, though i'm not keen on public swimming baths becuase i find it hard to be alone in the changing room as i need to take my spec off to swim, but can't see much without them, so even using a locker is an ordeal unless i have a fellow female help me out!

I understand about not being able to see. I also understnad about no privacy in changing room. That is why I am so glad we decided to get the pool. Thanks for responding.

I wish I had a pool especially in the summer which I know is going to be very hot. I bet that your swimming pool is a prized possession.

that's so exciting, mamacathie! we are currently looking for a new home and were planning to have a pool put in....that really is my dreamhome - with a pool! the house that we currently own is a townhouse and we could not have a pool although all the communities that we lived in in the past 8 years have had pools.... we just moved to a new state and are looking to purchase a new house...we are renting right now and would really love to have a pool, so i'm really looking forward to having our own... i used to be a swimmer during my school years, so i'd really love to have one installed....my kids love the water, too! i hope the weather is perfect for your first memorial day weekend when your family gets together to enjoy your pool! have fun!!!

Unfortunately no. I live in an apartment building that has a pool. I wish I did though. Hopefully when I move into a house I'll be able to have one the shape of donut with the hole in the middle a mini pool.

Congratulation! How nice to have a new swimming pool! I envy you and I dreamed to have one lol. I like swimming indeed and my son too. Many years back my son was going to join a swimming competition and he needed some practices so we then joined a swimming club nearby. My hubby had built a small fountain pool in front of our house. My kid used to play and swim in it.Though the pool was small he seemed to enjoy it very much. Happy swimming.

No, we don't, but I'd love to have one! I remember the inground pool that my grandmother had when we were growing up. She even had a water slide installed! It was so much fun! It was 3' in the shallow end (I think) and 8' at the "deep" end. We loved to jump from the diving board. We all learned to swim in that pool. That is the type I'd like to get. We've had the $100-$200 ones that are like 4' deep and 6-8' across but it isn't the same. You can't really swim in those. They're good for kids, but just not what I want.

Where in the US are you to be able to have a pool? I am in England and even if the weather was good enough it would keep getting leaves, twigs etc. in it and I would not find that very nice. When I have made my fortune on the internet I would like to have a big enough house to have an indoor pool. I think it is having dreams that keeps us going.

No and I don't regret.. It would give more work to do! LOL Sometimes when it's really hot I dream about one, but I forget it at once when I begin to think about all the cleaning and caring stuff we had to do.. :)

Yes, it does take time but with all the pool cleaning stuff we can just throw in it helps lots. Thanks for posting.

Oh what fun! I grew up having a pool and my parents still have it. Now their grandkids go over and enjoy it. We have had a big cold snap here so it is still too cold to get in! Hope you have a wonderful funand safe summer pool side.

No, I don't have a swimming pool but I'd love to have! I live in apartment and in my build there's no place to swimming... That's too bad because when the weather is very hot and we want to enjoy ourself we have to go to the club... It would me much better if we could swimming just here, in our building!

Yes, and I can't wait to take my 2 year old granddaughter in it. Her brothers got in tonight and had so much fun. She was just watching them, but it was too cold out for her to get in.
