Does it bother you when people break the rules?

I have tried very hard to stay positive about myLot. I have stayed out of the negative discussions. However, it is becoming harder and harder to stay positive. As many have noticed, our earnings are not what they used to be. One thing that affects that is the sheer volume of posts due to a large lot of members. However, if you look soooooooo many of the discussions and/or posts within discussions are people posting their referral links for other programs. If you do a search for the word 'adbux' or any other popular program you will see what I mean. The people who post their referral link have just earned money by breaking hte rules. These types of posted discussions and replies are diluting the water folks! The money has to spread between all of us, and they get money for breaking a rule! What do you do when you see this type of post? Can we as members do anything? Can we ask myLot to be more stringent with the rules?

I can see where you are coming from but I don't loose sleep over it.
Those posts don't get a reply from me or even a look see.
I don't see how they are reducing our income at myLot though.
If you go to Alexa they show that the page views for myLot have dropped since December. Also, although the number of members who have joined myLot continue to rise, the number of active members has stayed at about 15,000 for the 6 months I've been here. (check out the 'users by rating' link bottom left for the stats)

Hello, crazynurse, there have been more and more negative views about mylot recently which may have lead to the leaving of some old members.
There are always bad discussions in every forums and you can see members keep breaking the discussion rules no matter in which forums,I think mylot have alread tried hard to remove all those discussions, but due to the huge numbers of discussions,it will take some time. The rules are there, the point is whether mylot have executed them and when they will do it.

Good point crazynurse! It is VERY irritating to see members doing this. Sometimes it takes forever to get through reading posts because all this extra referral links are in there. And some of them have a whole bunch of links added in one post. I think myLot should do more about this. Maybe if we were only allowed to put our referral links on our profile page it would be better. You know? Let them talk about Adbux if they want, but they can only put their referral link to it on their own page.

Great observations. I am doing more and enjoying it less...lol. I don't use any of the referral links. To me, that is not my purpose for being here. The pay level has slowly dwindled and I expect it will continue to do so. The owners will still get their share. I guess that is normal, but I don't see much upside for the time put into this. It does not good to get referrals since for the most part they don't participate. Ans since one of my favorite posters has been terminated, I don't know what to expect.

When i read about their posts about posting some referral links is i dont know what to feel about it because others here make their best to earn money online by gaining many referrals. And i feel sad sometimes or angry sometimes when i saw their posts because some members here are abusive enough and they dont think about the rules and regulation here in mylot.

I know it is very irritating when I see this happen. I can understand a now and then goof by a person but to constantly see the breaking of the guidelines and some times those discussions end up in the top discussions it becomes extremely irritating. I try to report any that I can. I look over the guidelines once a week to refresh my memory of them and to make sure I am reporting the right things. People need to remember that we can't post discussions that:
1. have referral links in them
2. give personal information (including email addresses)
3. milestones (500 post mark, birthdays etc)
4. one word or one liners
There are more but those are the ones I see broken the most. It makes it hard to find quality posts but also gives the newbies the impression that they are allowed to do these things when they see so many of them done. We all need to start reporting them and rating them negatively (make sure to report first otherwise once you hit the negative you can't) and not to post to such discussions.

Thanks :) Yes it is one thing to really remember not to post to them even if it is to just let them know they shouldn't be doing that. It just causes you to lose points and earnings later on and then if it happens with a bunch all at once you are wondering why it happened.

Oh yes Emerald, you have reminded us of an important point. Don't post in those discussions! For instance, if one goes into one of those discussions and gently reminds the poster that their discussion is against the guidelines, then if the discussion is later removed by myLot, then the person who posted a reply has lost points/earnings too!

I do not read or responde to any of these discussions. I am sure they will eventually be deleted. According to the way I read the myLot FAQ's all the money taken back for deleted discussions and also responses is reallocated by to myLot users and that is one of the reasons our earnings fluctuate so much. i,e, copied from the FAQs:
During the recalculation of earnings some users with lower-quality contributions will see a decrease. Any money deducted from users due to our abuse and moderation processes is then reallocated to myLot users based on certain qualitative factors. Due to this, earnings will fluctuate.
myLot members who have a decrease in earnings have had one or more posts deleted throughout the month.

As you know I have been out of the picture for a few weeks. I was shocked at the amount of ref links that I see. Equally shocking were the earnings I recieved for my postings yesterday. I had a ton of catching up to do and I got 1 penny for my posts and replies. Yikes! I guess I just like chatting with you all too much to not be here. I used to think that if the earnings were going down down down, I would just quit......but I am still here. If you do go somewhere else, please PM me so I don't loose contact with you. I enjoy your posts and sense of humour too much.

Ahhhwwwww, thanks so much ally! Your observations are exactly what I am talking about. It is just so watered down now. Lets just hope that something happens to turn it all around!

I know someone that does it all the time, but I just don't reply to them, there is not really much you can do to reply to them really. The person that I know that does it, I am surprised that mylot hasn't picked up on it because I would say about 90% of this persons discussion is about getting referrals for other programs.

To be honest, hun, I try to ignore the "get rich quick" posts but it isn't easy when there are so many of them. What annoys me even more is when people ask to be my friend, then spam me with their rotten adbux and other sites.

Well I like the idea of asking myLot to be more stringent with the rules. I think those that break the rules should be knocked way down on their earnings as well as their stars and ratings. Why should it affect all of us?

Hello my friend, what are you waiting for? Report them!!!
If they e.g. introduce adbux as it is without the referral link, then that's ok. But if you see a referral link, report them.
I must confess I try to close one eye if they are my friends but that's that. :P

I am guilty to breaking the rules a few times by sharing my referral link but it's only because I was so excited and wanted others to share in the $$$ as well. I don't do it often and have not done it in a while now. I am really trying to stick by the rules and not break them. But, I also don't just do the referral thing. I join in on all kinds of conversations and I am very active here. The ones that I don't like is all they do over here is spam their referral addresses and don't get into other "normal" conversations. Does that make sense?

It does bother me sometimes. It really depends on my mood. I think the only thing, we can do is try to report them when we see something wrong that is happening.

I think it might be a good idea to allow a signature at the end of your posts so that you can promote whatever you want without necessarily having an actual URL there...it could just be a piece of hyperlinked text like we have on out profile pages....it would stop the endless discussion threads but still allow people who want to promote their programs. Either that or have a downline builder interest that you have to opt into in order to see those types of posts

Both are splendid ideas inked! How about you suggest those to myLot!

I think mylot is trying to cut down on all the people who are breaking rules. I have been hearing of alot of articles that have been removed for rule breaking. I am very careful what discussions I comment on. I dont comment on the complaint discussions or on the single question discussions. As when those discussions are deleted, so are the comments. If you continue to comment on those types of discussions, you can loose alot of points.
I think that is the purpose of the "!" button on the discussions and comments.

I did not realize these were against the rules, there are just so many of them. I don't even look at them, but it is amazing the number of people who come here and ask where to go to make money.
I tried some of the other sites and never made enough to get a pay out or you had to give them your email address everytime to make a penny.
MyLot allows us to make a little money without giving up our privacy or our first born male child (although there were times).
Maybe it is time to start reporting these people.

I know how you feel.
Most rules I follow the only one I break is mentioning my sites inside discussions which I'll openly admit. I don't spam, I mention them where someone might find them useful or handy.
Unlike others.

I have noticed the same thing. It is hard to stay positive as people are breaking rules and getting away with it. I still love this site but it is harder to be coming here. I used to make more for posting 25 posts and I now make about half of what I did before. I always keep track of my amount of what I post. I hate to give a negative so I just don't rate at all. On these kind of discussions. I don't see what we as members can do because this has been addressed on more than one discussion and putting money links still continues.
