It looks like an American Short Hair or Domestic Short Hair cat. They are quite common. It could be an Oceloid Tabby, which is just the name for the pattern of the spots and stripes on the kitten. If you want you can check out this page for information: http://www.messybeast.com/spotted-cats.html

I would have to agree with most everyone it looks like a DSH tabby. I have 4 of them and they all look vastly different. Tabbycat has standard strips, Sammy is actually a long haired tabby and his strips are more splotches of color due to his shag, Eddy is stripped with spots on his sides and hind legs, and Alex is stripped with what my husband calls his bulls eye (a big circle on his sides). The tabby strips are something that varies greatly mostly due to cross breeding as cats are like rabbits in the reproducing area.

Looks like a bengal. I saw some of them on t.v. not long ago. They are bred to look like bengal tigers.

I have one just like that! See my avatar. Tribble is a Tabby, but the markings are extremely similar to the California Star Spangled, a domestic cat bred to look like a wild cat. (Most wildcats have more spots for camouflage.) Tabbies generally have all stripes, but can also have swirls and spots. Sometimes genetic quirks will produce a cat that is similar to its ancestors, and I think your and mine are very similar.
Nice kitten!

Definitely looks like a bengal kitty. My mom had 2, now only 1 of them. They have a bunch of different types and colors, you can get marbled looking ones too. The one my mom has now is more orangey colored, but has the spots and stripes. Beautiful and personable cats. Here's a link with some photos, can do a search online for more photos of the different varieties and colors:

My first guess would be a standard American Tabby. If there is a chance the kitten could be a purebred, then possibly an Egyptian Mau. The way to know for sure is the colour of their eyes. The Egyptians have a shade of green that is described as 'Gooseberry Greeen'. You could possibly pick up a book at the library and see if there was a way to compare it because it is supposed to be quite distinctive.
