When people look at you can they tell what your correct age is? Perhaps they think you look older, or maybe younger than you are. Have you have ever had anything good or bad happen because you age was mistaken?

After few min one lady around 45 yrs old enquired about a route bus whether gone or not? she called me as "ABBAYE"(in India in TELUGU language it means teenage boy) where a college girl less than 20 yrs age asked about her college bus position she called me a "BABU" ( which means a boy less than 15 yrs) Of all at that incident I am working as a Lecturer in Degree college my age is Just completed 25 yrs Height is 5 feet 5 inch. I can relate. Most people seem to think I appear far younger then I really am. Do you just let the people think what they will, or do you correct them and let them know your real age? Thanks for posting srini_the_creator.

I have had it happen most of my life. When l was teen, people always thought l was in my twenties. Now that I'm older it goes the other way. I was with my sister who is 9 years older then me and a acquaintance that we ran into asked me if l was with my mother. It wasn't a pleasant situation.

I've always looked much younger than I am. But I understand how it can make for some akward (to say the least) situations like the one with your sister. I remember I was on a date with this one woman eating dinner at a resteraunt, when a very young (and pretty) waitress asked me if "my mother and I were ready to order," or something to that effect. The rest of the evening was not a pleasant one.

LOL this is a good one filmbuff! I do a market stall on Sundays and last winter I was mistaken for my husband's mother by some mouthy customer! I was livid! I guess it was because I was rugged up with a weird hat and huge warm clothing. Normally people think that i'm younger than I am. I find that very flattering and gives my day a boost. lol ;)

Oh darn, i've done it again. Brain not connected to fingers today! I forgot to say that when I was in my late 20's a local politician came door knockin in our village. I opened the door to see him standing there and he asked me if my mother was at home. I creased up laughing and he couldn't understand why! He was a rather pompous man and needless to say I didn't vote for him! lol

That would have to hurt being mistaken for your husbands Mother. I would probably be upset too. I've also had people come to door the ask to speak to my parents about magazine or newspaper subscriptions or candy they are selling. I kind of chuckle and tell them they are not at home. It's a convienent excuse. :) Thanks for posting feralwoman.

In my case people more or less guess and are very accurate to my real age...they don't say im older or younger than what i really am.

People have never guessed my aged correctly. I'm not sure how I would handle it if they did. Thanks for commenting.

When peole look at me they can't really tell what my correct age is. It's weird though cos some thinks I'm older but most thinks I'm younger than I really am. There's the funny incident months ago when I was with my friends and we went to Ice Bar in Greenbelt 3, I was looking at the bar list that's standing before the entrance and there's the girl receptionist who asked me how old am I cos they don't allow minors and I was stunned and lookd directly at her and asked her: "Why, how old do I look like?" and she answered me back seriously with: "You look 13." I can't help laughing. I was with my 2 of my friends and one of my friend's older brother and they also laughed. I told the girl I'm 19 and walked out and entered a different bar. LOL.

That's so funny. I've seen some girls where the reverse is true. When I went back to college about 5 years ago I was performing in the choir at a concert. One of the women who was in the choir was with this stunning girl, who I was thinking I would just have to meet. Long story short, my friend introduced me to her as her 15 year old daughter. I felt low and could understand how some men could get in trouble dateing underage women and not even know it.

I look younger than I actually am. I'm 22, and people think I'm 17 or 18. Some people even thinks I'm 13-15. No-one has ever thought I was older than I really am, and I'm glad with it. And no, I never had any problems with it, except for having my documents checked at night clubs when all my friends are already in, or this sort of stuff. Nothing serious. I'm very concerned about getting old, and I usually hate my birthdays. Even then, I've never lied about my age, 'cause I think it's pointless. And come on, I'm still young to start thinking of doing it.

This discussion came up recently at a family gathering and a female cousin mentioned that men look better as they age. If they turn grey they are still considered sexy and often get that "Sean Connery" look. She went on to say that women on the other hand looked worse and became less desireable. It's kind've strange...

I used to lie about my age a lot. Usually letting people think that I was in my early twenties because I had hopes of getting a deal with a major record label. They will not give someone my age a deal unless I look and claim to be much younger than I am. I've given up on major labels, I'm just going to do it myself. :) I think that maybe looking younger for women is probably a good thing. Do you think woman are more concerned with ageing than men, or at least at how old they look?

Well, at least you had a good reason for lying, but even then, you know it's not the best way, right? Of course sooner or later people would find out you were lying. And yes, we women are way more concerned about age than you. I know some men actually like older women, but only a few. And I fear aging a lot. I mean, I think I fear looking old, not aging by itself.

It's funny because when i was a student i used to look a little older because of my build and since i used to wear spectacles. But now as an adult i look more or less my age or little younger. I am hoping on sticking to my workouts and proper diet to look younger, fitter and healthier. Cheers.:)

I do not look my age, I look almost 10 years younger. People mistake me for 16 instead of 24. I've tried everything to look my age, but I guess I have a young looking face.

I turned 50 years old this year. My students (college age) were amazed when I told them that I was 50 years old. I really do not think that I look my age. I mean, I don't look 20 either...but I don't think that I look 50! Of course, these were people taht were probably fishing for extra credit points! Ha! Seriously, many tell me that because I don't 'act' 50, I don't 'look' 50.

Much like you I look far younger than I am, and people are generally surprised when I tell them my real age. It's kind've nice to considered to be younger than I am, but presenting ID for common things gets a little boring after a while. Thanks for posting.

I believe it, I'm in my middle 30's and get confused for being a teenager quite often. It is kind of nice to look young, but I find that I don't always get the respect that I should if I'm shopping, banking etc.

Has looking older allowed you to do things that you wern't supposed to, or legally allowed to do? Do you like looking older than your real age?

People usually think I'm a little younger than I am. I'm sure alot of it has to do with how I dress, etc. I don't wear hardly any makeup - just mascara and lip gloss. My hair is shoulder length and usually very casual looking. I also usually dress in t-shirts and jeans. I think that all adds to people thinking I'm younger than I am. That's fine! I think it's a nice compliment!

I never really thought about it before, but I guess that I dress younger than my age most the time also. It's very rare you will see me in a suit, since I favor the jeans/t-shirt look most of the time as well. Still though even while dressing business casual (slacks, dress shirt) I'm consistantly told that I look younger. Thanks for posting melanie652.

People all the time think Im younger than i look. usually Id be very flattered but a couple of times it was a hinderance. i was out with friends and forgot my ID at home. I was not allowed to enter a nightclub once and a casino once coz the bouncer was like you dont look old enough to enter.

Yes, the other day someone asked my sister if I was her son!!! Either I look a lot younger than I am or my sister looks a *lot* older than she is. (She's 65 and I'm 60 in fact)

I'm 23, and most people guess about 25, which isn't too bad. If I'm dressed up a lot, people tend to guess about 19 (I get ID'd a lot when I go out after getting very dressed up), but if I'm covered in dog hair, wearing an old sweater with my hair in a ponytail, I've had people guess early 30s which is kind of painful. My mom and I once got mistaken for sisters. She was delighted -- I really wasn't.

Ouch, being mistaken as a sister of your mother would be painful. I have a relative and when he is out with his Mom many people think they are married. That has to hurt. Thanks for commenting breepeace.

I have a bother, my age of my identity card is not my real age,it is older than me.most classmates of mine were born in 1983, i was born in 1982 ,because there is a mistake in my identity card,i also was borned in 1983.As you know, the girls must care their ages very much.I don't want my classmates consider that i am older than them.

most people say i look younger my age. maybe because of my unruly hairstyle.LOL... any bad experience related to age? yeah. In movie houses, there were times when the ticket seller would question my age and ask for an ID. sometimes it's flattering but if you get to go through the same experience over and over, then it becomes tiring and ANNOYING. But that was ages ago.....hahahaha. thank god i look older now.
