Paper Cuts

What is it about paper cuts? You know, one minute you're picking up a piece of paper or card off the desk, and the next minute you feel the sharp sting that signifies a paper cut. For some reason, I never actually FEEL a paper cut till it's actually happened, and then I'm usually left shaking the hurt finger and wrapping a band aid round it like a baby for a day or two with some Ice gel LOL. What about you guys? Do you actually feel the paper cut as it happens? Or are you like me and only feel the sting when it's happened? Does the sting bother you, or are you one of the macho people who refuse to let it get to you? For me, the sting is an irritant that needs sorting right away, otherwise it drives me nuts.

I can imagine the sensation all over again. Aw.... Paper can be so very sharp. Be very careful around this seemingly innocent thing. :P

Yeah I know what you mean. I have some advice. When you get a paper cut go wash off the blood and press on it with your other finger to apply pressure to it. That way it will heal much faster. This always works with me even when I cut myself with siccors.

They're definitely one of the worst cuts to have - apart from slicing yourself open with the Pizza Cutter, and yes, I've managed that too LOL. I'm talking from experience here!! :P But yeah, they DO hurt for ages, it's a sting that's almost like an itch, if you get what I mean? It's there and you want to scratch it, but you know it's going to hurt even more if you do LOL.

I hate paper cuts! But what I hate worse, are when I cut myself on a file folder! The cut is much wider and hurts a lot more! I get them at work when my hands are really dry. I've found if I keep lotion on my hands, I don't get the paper cuts or folder cuts as often.

I can't think that I've ever cut myself on a file folder, though I daresay many people I know have done. That must really hurt though! I try to keep my hands moisturized, and luckily, I don't suffer from paper cuts often, but I certainly know about it when I do!

Oh papercuts are usually pretty nasty and they usually hurt for hours after even though it's just a small nick in your skin - silly really!

It is silly lol, and it's also weird how the smallest things tend to hurt the worst. Whoever invented paper is a genius and an idiot all at the same time LOL.

I've had cuts happen and didn't notice until it started to hurt and then I had ones that burned really bad the second it happened.

I actually got a fine cut the other day on the outside of the ball of my thumb a few days ago. I don't recall it happening and assumed it was a papercut. It's been opening up all the time because of how much a thumb is used. When I peeled some carrot however, I noticed that the blade of the peeler ends up right at the spot where the cut is, so it was my peeler not paper. We certainly have some lethal weaponry in our kitchens. I find that the pain of a tiny or fine cut can vary depending where it is and how much it gets knocked around on an everyday basis. I've also found that if you put a band aid on it you protect it a bit better from further attack. Yes the sting bothers me because it's aching all the time.

I hate getting paper cuts, the sting drives me crazy. Stupid things really, so small and insignificant yet they cause so much aggrevation.

I can actually say that I can feel the paer as it cuts me. Than I feel that stinging sensation and it hurts really bad. I have had worse cuts than that and never did feel anything like that. Paper cuts are the worst, in my book. It is defnitely bothersome and I put a bandaid on it also to keep other things from getting in the cut and making it sting even worse.

Oh it happened to me from time to time. Even for a piece of paper, I tend to get a cut on my fingers. It does sting and I normally put on a band aid for a day only. It may be because the skin on our fingers are very thin. Did you notice that it easily wrinkled whenever we soak our hands in the water.

Yeah, I agree about our skin being very thin. My hands and feet wrinkle so easily when I get in the bath. Mom used to tell me it was a sign that I needed to get out LOL. Of course, she was probably right, but I never listened to her :P I didn't mind the paper cut I got a couple of days back so much. It meant I got to use one of the Hello Kitty band aids I bought for my daughter LOL.

Oh, I hate those paper cuts. But I have found if I can get some super glue on it as soon as it happens it makes dealing with it so much easier.

Yes i feel it as it happens, I just put some disinfectant on it (Detol) or wash it with soap and forget about it, I don't think it's about being macho, just being practical..
