I think that for shoes people should spend more than for clothes because a bad shoe or a samller size or an uncofortable one could cause a lot of harm that we will notice only later, with the age. So even when I didn't have so much money, I was spending around 50 euros(70 dollars)for shoes I wear often. Yesterday I reached a new "record":):I bought sandals for 74 euros(100dollars). It was a lot opf money but these are those sandals for walking everywhere with:mpountains, fields, sand, rock etc and they have some special features which I really wnated. They fit just perfect and I am sure I will use them wiht pleasure. How about you how much would you spend on a pair of shoes and what is your record up to now:)?

I've spent a lot of money on shoes. I am a big shoe guy, collect a lot of different kinds of shoes. I have spend $200 for a pair of shoes (the Jordan XVIII in the metal box) and can usually spend about $100, although it really depends. For good shoes that I know I will take care of and have for a long time, I will pay the price. I collect Nike Air Forces and Air Jordans, and those regularly cost me over $100, although I still have them all and they are in excellent shape. I have spent a lot less on dress shoes that I've gotten on clearance or on sale, and flip-flops don't cost me nearly as much.

You collect them or you wear them, or maybe both?

The most I've spent was $39.99 one year ago on a nice pair of Nike running shoes. They were on sale. I wear shoes all the time, except when I'm sleeping of course, so I don't feel the need to buy expensive shoes. Normally I get $15-$20 sneakers and replace them every 3-4 months when they start to get uncomfortable. My Nikes were originally an $80 which is why I think they have held up this long.

No, see that's my point. Normally I would spend about $60 over the course of a year to keep comfortable shoes. The other bonus to replacing them after just a few months is that they never looked worn on the outside. My Nike's would have cost $80 had they not been on sale and after one year they are still comfortable but they certainly don't look new. So unless I can get lucky again and find a more expensive shoe on sale, I actually save money by buying cheaper ones and replacing them more often. Actually had I replaced my Nike's when I wanted to (because of appearance) I would have spent a minimum of $120 for the year IF I had been able to find another sale each time. That's TWICE as much as what I normally spend.

But maybe if you would pay more for your shoes they will held longer and then in total maybe you would even save money like this. I know that all my good shoes for which I paid more they are stil in one piece and I can still wear:).

I only have 1 pair of shoes I wear--Nikes. I paid about $60 for them on sale about 4 years ago. I'm in need of a new pair but can't find a pair that fit good and that I like for under $70. I refuse to pay more then that for shoes.

Shoes are more then closes. You should wear shoes which are comfortable and not the shoes which look very nice. I spend a lot of money for basketball shoes. If there a really good shoes I spend around 200$. With good shoes you have more grip and the possibility of injuring during a game is less.

Comfortable shoes are very important. Shoes can also make the outfit. Still, I probably wouldn't pay more than $60 or so for a pair of shoes. I'm always looking for sales and deals.

A pair of shoes may cost, starting from a small amount to a very high amount. One may wonder why there is so much difference in price and why some of the shoes are so expensive. Part of the reason could be due to brand. But the cost of a pair of shoes is fairly dependent on the quality of the shoes. Shoes that are of high quality are comfortable and durable. With advancing age, one needs to wear shoes that are comfortable and absorb as much shock as possible that one may encounter while walking. Old people should spend good amount of money on shoes and buy high quality shoes only.

It depends on what type of shoes. I would pay around £50 for a nice pair of Sketchers trainers, becuase i know they will last and that they are comfey. I would also paya bout £50 for a good pair of leather boots for the winter, my last pair was from Next and cost £40, they are real leather and i know i will get a couple of years out of them. If i was buying some shoes for as special occasion like a wedding or something, i'd spend maybe around £30, or less if i found some i liked for less. Other types of shoes, i would spend under £25 on, and sandals for summer i tend to try and stick to less than £15 even, becuase i like to have more choice of pairs, but it depends on whether i saw a reall nice pair and could afford to buy them at the time.

I don't mind paying for expensive pairs of shoes as long as I get the value of it. I usually go for the comfort it brings, not on the glamour. I do have several pairs now but I still cannot stop myself from buying some more. It's really weird. I believe one can give a good impression by just wearing the right pair of shoes.

I was always one of those people who would spend the absolute bare minimum on shoes. However, since I have started long distance running I find that I really need good shoes. Unfortunately they are quite expensive. I tend to spend about $200 for my running shoes and roughly the same for my work shoes. They do not last all that long either which is a bit of a problem. cheers,

I like to stay within my budget, so i would ideally go for shoes that are less expensive, more durable as it will last longer and most importantly is confortable to wear. And most often manage to get it after some searching and bargaining. So i am not too much into big brands, attractive features, looks. Cheers.:)

i think my record is about $90 aussie dollar... that's the most i am willing to spend on a shoe and i still have it until now... it is so durable and comfortable to wear... it is too expensive already for me though because i bought it about 2 and a half years ago when my salary is still small...

I generally spend around 80 AU dollars on a pair, and then don't buy anymore shoes for a couple of years at least! I actually really don't like shoe shopping, so I know what I like and generally stick to the same sort of thing, and brand if I can. Pretty boring, huh?!
