Who buys vegatables in your home ? Is it your Mom , Dad , Grandfather ...etc..etc...
Do you like eating veggies ? Especially green leafy vegetable. I know most of you like ONLY potatoes and Cauliflowers like me. LOL.....
It is said that eating only potaoes make you obese and make you also look like a potatoe (crouched potatoe). Green leafy vegetable have a lot of proteins and vitamins. But why do people prefer eating vitamin pills than vegetables.
I have noticed that it is more mem in the vegetalble market. Gone or those times where men never used to go to vegetable markets.
Have you even gone to market to buy vegetables ? If so describe you first adventure. And if you have funny incidents like scoldings from MOM for getting not so good quality vegetable do qoute. Make as laugh for a while. Also mention the vegetalbe you LOVE ?

I buy all the food for in the house, if my husband went to the grocery store i might need to got the hospital for resesitation. I try to keep a variety around the house of veggies to make with meals or eat by themselves. My favorite is also the potatoe you cant go wrong with the potatoe you make it in so many different ways that is seems to be the most popular. But someof our other favorites are broccoli, corn either frozen on the cob or from a can, green beans, carrots, celery, cauliflower, tomatoe, lettece, green peppers, cucumber, you name it and at least one of the 5 people in my family will eat it.

Good to hear that you eat more veggies. As you say veggies are a way to make meals more delicious. And to quote potato is the vegetable that many people like. You can make variety with much less effort thats why people also like cookin with potatoes.

Yes I buy vegetables for my home. I pick up fresh only, may be costly. We have to pay more for fresh vegetables but these are good for health. I like all types of green veg. Consumption of potato is very less. Leafy type veg is frequently chosen as it is easy digestive. I never use vitamin pills and do not believe on such short cut ways. Availability of green veg at our area is in bulk whole year so no problem. I faced problem initially in selection but soon I overcome it. Now I am perfect in selcting vegetables.

Most of the purchase is made by me personally. I move to the vegetable market to buy the same. Buying from street vendors proves to be very costly. My father in law too helps me in this regard. He buys whenever we need to buy in bulk example fruits. He would buy a container and carring it home on a scooter is not possible so he takes up this work. I think over the time we wont be required to move to the market as we would get home delivery of the vegetables. I learnt to select vegetables before marriage when i moved to the market with my mother for their purchase.

As you say , selecting vegetables is an art by itself. I have so far succeed very little in this aspect. Its my mother who selects the best vegetable. Patience is a quality which is very much required during the purchase, is it not ?. Its the proper selection of vegetalble that can enhance your food taste.

well some of the farmers around here grow their own, so sometimes we buy off them, but other than that theres not a market, we just have to buy it from supermarket.

first time going to the market isn't that fun at first. you need to know some people there and be familiar with the place. and the second time around, you'll be able to go through the place quickly and you'll know where to go and buy the veggies. it's fun really!

i love going to vegetable markets. it's cheap there and there are lots of varieties of vegetables to choose from. but i am not a good veggie picker. hehe. i can't differentiate what's fresh from non-fresh. and so, it's my brother and my mom who mostly go to buy veggies. they know more than me!

Its always my mom as she prefers to buy vegetables and get satisfaction. If any one of us buy any vegatables, she will say this is not good...why did you pay huge price for this? and so on...
When my mom goes out of station very rarely this happens and its my turn to go market.I never go around all the shops like my mom because she will buy only from a particular shops for each and every item.I dont like bargaining too..
My mom says that am lazy and hence dont go out around the market to purchase vegetables..she is right..
I like potatoes, cauliflower, ladies finger and some green leaves.

I go to the market and buy vegetables, I like vegetables and want to have a salad on the table. Some vegetables I grow myself, no many though.
I also like to eat potatoes. When I buy vegetables they have to be very fresh. I check thoroughly! And they have to be reasonable. I compare prices. I always come home with lettuce and cucumbers and such for salads. And I buy lots of different vegetables for variety, I know how to prepare them.
I winter I love kale and rutabaga.
In summer I like cucumbers and aspargus best.

I market vegetables from our local market that trades fresh and good quality vegetables. I think by proper choosing of vegetables regularly, we can make our food also to fight against many health problems those are usually done by vitamin capsules! This choosing must be done as per the seasons, availability of fresh vegetables and the fair cost factor. Since our health gains its foundation from our planning of food, we must always be alert of this fact for every purchase of food items including vegetables.
As per my liking, I prefer tomato, carrot, plantain, drumsticks and ladies finger very much. Also spinach, cabbage, mint leaves and Indian spinach are my choice among green-leafy vegetables. Thanks.

Sorryy to find fault with you but green leafy vegetables does not have protein contet. They are especially known for Vitamin A aswell as some rare B class vitamins. So since these are rare vitamins one need to take green leafy vegetbles regularly.
My mother buys vegetables. She is adept at getting quality ones and also at bargaining prices. I always get scoldings from her either for paying higher price or for getting bad quality vegetables.
