Do you use placemats on your table?

We don't use a tablecloth on our table because our dogs like to use their teeth to pull it down so that they can snag some human food. Not dumb dogs at all. We use to use placemats till we started to notice that the children were hiding their vegetables under them when we were busy doing something else. We do still use placemats when we have company over. The placemats we use have family photos on them. A friend made these for us as a gift. This way the placemats serve a couple of purposes.

I don't own a table.. Except my grandfathers table which has my computer and tv and the rest of my stuff on. It doesn't have placements because I don't drink or put anything down on the table except small things. (not counting what's already on it) Kudos, ~Joey

When we had a smaller table I used table clothes. You can change them with the seasons and holidays and I used matching place mats. We now have a very large oak table that has an oak lazy susan in the middle, so a table cloth will no longer works for us. I use place mats that are easily wiped clean.

We used to do it, having placemats on our table. But it got tedious after some time. Doesn't serve any real purpose since we will wipe the table after that anyway. So no more, just the plates, straight on the table.

We use placemats instead of a tablecloth. The ones we use do sort of match the table. Now don;t get me wrong we do have table-clothes but these are usually kept for special occassions, like when the mother-inlaw visits and it's usually one of the ones she gave us as a present.

I don't use them all the time. But, they look so pretty, I do like having them on the table. A lot of the time I use the placemats and don't use a tablecloth.

Yes I always use plate-mats when I eat. I think it keeps the table cleaner. I try to use plastic ones because they are easy to clean if I spill some sauce on them. One time I had ones that were made of cotton they just got stained. So since then I am using plastic ones.
