How did you and your partner meet? They way I met my husband- I had been broken up with my ex-boyfriend for over a month, he wouldn't leave me alone. One afternoon he was arguing with me outside by my car. He was very angry and what looked like he was going to hit me. This guy came over from across the street that I had never seen before, and told my ex that he better leave me alone, and told him to leave or he was going to be sorry. I thought that was so sweet of this guy, not to mention he was very handsome. We started talking and he took me out to eat. I found out that he lived in Indania and I lived in Illinois. Later that night he went home and called me. We talked for 6 hours on the phone. Later that week he came to stay with me because we didn't want to be apart. This is 17 years later and we are still together. Now tell me your story.

We met when I was working as a musician. I had broken up with my previous partner and was living alone for several months. She asked me to write some music transpositions for her - she was a female singer.

No, LOL. We were, but I haven't worked on stage since around 1983, when the demand for live entertainers fell. Then discos took over and then karioke and on a few established continued. I could see the "writing on the wall" around 1976 and re-trained as a therapist, which I have done ever since.

my husband and i met at a bar. i know what you are thinking so let me explain. its funny how our paths crossed. neither one of us drinks. his friend tagged him along as a designated driver and so did my friend. i was sitting on the porch when he came out and sat on the railing. we started talking about music. he asked for my phone number and the next day he showed up for coffee. since that day we have seen each other each and every day. four years later we got married. he was my first and only boyfriend. and i love him more and more. we have been married for 2 and a half years now.

My husband and I met while living in the same apartment complex. I was eyeing him, he was eyeing me, and about 6 months later we met. That was over 15 years ago. We've been together ever since.

By the way, that's scary about your ex-boyfriend! It's good that your husband (then stranger) was able to scare away your ex. Who knows what would have happened had he not been there to 'rescue' you that day.

Your story is like a classic "Knight in Shininy Armor" story...very sweet! My SO and I met on myspace....last year. We are both in our 40's and he is the sweetest, kindest, most gentle man I've ever met. I love him with all my heart. I'm planning to move to be with him this summer!

We met in the 7th grade and "went steady". We wore those necklaces that had one half of a heart on each chain that could fit together to make one. We passed love notes in class. We went together and then broke up over a silly argument. We got back together again in the 12th grade and dated until we finished my 2nd year in college and his year and a half and then got married. We will have our 37th anniversary in about 2 weeks. So, we've lived together the majority of our lives.

i met my husband through a common friend. it was on may 1, 2001 when he bought his first cellphone. our friend, insisted that he should buy one for them to communicate easier. then as a newbie, he doesn't know how to send text messages (our friend, sent a message to me, him not knowing anything). when they separated, he received a text message (this came from me), asking on who is he. that started our friendship. it was until feb 2002 that we first got to meet personally (we were still friends then), after our first meeting, he started courting me... and as they say, the rest is history :)

y husband and I were Chemistry lab partners in college. ..... We love to tell people that there was chemistry from the start. ha, ha. We had mutual friends and interests around campus so we didn't start dating righ away. We went to the same parties, sports, intramural events, etc. until we finally just started riding together to everything. But that wasn't dating..... was it?? We knew we were attracted to each other and enjoyed spending most of our time in each others company, but to this day we still disagree on what was actually our first date. PS I dropped the lecture portion of the Chemisty class on the last day to drop a class, but finished out the semester never missing a lab class.

I was 11 yrs. old and he was 15 yrs old. My older sister had a friend over and my hubby and a friend of his came riding by on there bikes because they had seen 2 girls out sun bathing. I was standing in the driveway and it was love at first site! He was somewhat tall, skinny, blonde hair, blue eyes...basically a knock out and down right gorgeous in my eyes. From then on he kept coming over, but he was always mean to me and wouldn't give me the time of the day if someone else was around. He made everyone think he didn't like me, but when we were alone it was different. He was a sweetheart to me. My mom worked during the day and my sister would be out with friends while I was home alone, well not really alone considering he was there. His dad worked 2nd shift and didn't come home until after 1am so he spent alot of time at our house hanging out. My mom was very nieve and basically considered him like a son. He helped us mow our lawn and that sort of stuff. Anyways, your probably thinking 11 yrs old is way too young. I agree, but at that age I was well in doubt and almost fully matured in all areas with that perfect body everybody dreams to have these days (wish I still had it too...lol) It wasn't until I was 16 yrs. old that he finally admitted our relationship. I use to sneak him in late at night through my bedroom window. One time my mom happened to wake up in the middle of the night and he ended up going out the window naked...lol He had left his shoes in the livingroom and my mom took them until he came asking for them. He was embarrassed! Thats how we met and we are still together 23 yrs. later! ;)

Thanks! I am sure we will. It took him a year to face my mom and ask for his shoes back. She kept them hidden in her trunk of the car which I didn't know or I would have snuck in there and gotten them....lol ;)

isn't love finds you when you least expect it? i am so happy for you and your husband. 17 years and still together. i hope you get to be together forever! i met my boyfriend in an online dating site almost two years ago. i wasn't really looking for love that time since i was still in pain from my last break up. i just received an invitation to check the site through my email and out of curiousity, i just checked it. and it's when i saw his picture. hehe. i found him cute and looks really nice and so, i sent him just a hello message. luckily, he emailed back. it's where everything started. we exchanged emails everyday and after some months, chatted. after some months, fell inlove. we already are in a relationship for more than a year now and we're getting stronger everyday. in fact, i will be leaving the philippines and will be migrating to sweden to be with him. i'll be going to sweden on the 28th of june this year. happy myLotting!

I don't have a story because I'm not married, but I am so glad I read this thread all the way through. What a wonderful way to meet your potential husband! You already know he is brave because he proved it. He showed a whole lot of character. I've never met him but I am glad you shared this with us. Here's to 17 more years and beyond!

Mine was an arranged marriage. i knew him as a kid as our parents are friends, but i hadn't met him as a grown-up. I met him in one of my aunt's house just four months before our marriage. By that time i was doing my degree in college staying in hostel, he used to call me frequently after we got engaged.
