It just so happens its our 6th wedding anniversary today and guess what? we both forgot LOL I have only just remembered and feel a little stink that I didn't wish my hubby "happy anniversary" before he left for work, BUT thats ok, because he forgot too. I think we get so caught up in our lives that we tend to forget the little special occasions like this. Here's looking forward to many more:) Happy Anniversary to those who are celebrating it today!

With my 1st husband we both forgot our 4th wedding anniversary, we were busy moving into a new home and I didn't remember until about a month later I think. Usually my hubby and I will go to dinner. It's something we both enjoy and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. We sometimes will splurge and go to get a nice steak something we don't normally do on a regular basis.

Yup, looks like its steak for us tonight (which is something we usually don't have and leave for special occasions too). Thanks applsofgld for your response.

Wowww, maddy. Happy 6th wedding anniversary to you. I don't have anything to celebrate today just your usual regular one. To tell you the truth, I never forget any special occasions. Everything is branded in my brain despite my busy lifestyle. Here's wishing you more fruitful years of wedding bliss. "wink"

Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby! We never forget an anniversary. It's kind of hard not to since we were a) married in my husband's hometown and most years we are down there at the time (August 2nd), and b) our daughter's birthday is a few days later on the 6th. Plus our kids don't let us forget it. They insist we go out for dinner. At this point I would rather forgo the gifts because men are just too hard to buy for - besides how romantic is a box of golf balls! I am happy just to get a card and go out to eat. And I think he has given me enough jewelry but I won't say no to flowers. LOL! I celebrate it because it is my second marriage. My first marriage ended after six years. So every year I survive this marriage needs to be celebrated, if only by me. Thankfully I have passed the six year mark this time around and have number 10 coming up this summer.

WOW 10 years, congratulations - that's a milestone and a half :) I find it hard buying gifts for my hubby too and prefer just to celebrate it over dinner or even at a movie without exchanging gifts. I actually don't mind not celebrating it at all and just reminiscing about our lives together. I am very happy that we have had 6 wonderful years together and hope we have many more. Thanks patgalca for your well wishes.

Hi ellie26, this is the first time we have actually forgotten and even though we have only celebrated it on our 1st & 5th anniversary, I think we will make an exception (being new to USA and all) and actually go out for a nice well deserved dinner :) Thanks for your response :)

It seems that it looks same in my situation. It is my 6th Wedding anniversary and we almost forgot it. But my Wife is so unfrogetful about his things that was the first words I heard from her this morning but then since both of us are working. We never thought about it anymore. I just don't know if we would be able to celebrate it this time since when both of us gets home were both tired from work and we really don't have the energy to celebrate or reminisce this supposed special day.

Actually after having written this post and you replied almost immediately I have the inspiration to maybe just buy some food just to surprise her when I get home. maybe that would make things a little bit special somehow. Thanks! :D

Happy 6th wedding anniversary to you too :) I know how you feel though. When we were both working we always forgot special things like this and after a hards day work, it's always difficult to find the energy to do anything. I think as long as you both remember and even spending time together at home (when tired) can also be a nice thing to do too. Thanks for posting.

Thanks aretha and for your response. It must be difficult with your hubby away in Iraq, i can't imagine what it must be like. Pizza is one of our favorites too. We went to TGIF's and my son had pizza and I had a chicken and pasta meal while my husband had steak. It was worth the $$ spent for our anniversary.

My husband and I always remember our wedding anniversary, It's around Labor Day weekend. We go out for the whole weekend. It's the only time we ever really go out alone. So we always plan something ahead of time.

Hey don't feel bad, on our first anniverary, my mother-in-law wished us a happy anniversary. My husband and I both forgot. Well actually I thought it was another day. I had to look at my marriage license to see the actual day. We don't usually celebrate because of the income issue. Once I took my husband to see his favorite band in concert and that was our fourth anniversary. We will be celebrating seventeen years July 18. Hopefully we will do something.

My mother and father celebrates wedding anniversaries every year. They both talk to each other what to prepare and go to mass too whenever they find time on the day of their anniversary. If it falls on a Sunday we do the usual family mass together then dine out or prepare food at home and invite some of their close friends or relatives and neighbors to eat. I am happy to know that you have a 6 year successful marriage. God bless!

Happy anniversary first off:) Me and hubby celebrate all the special and not so special days in our lives .easy to get busy and forget sometimes but always makes me remember too..that you can simply forget to say i love you and someone you love walks out that day for a day you think is gunna go like the one before..and that is the last time you see them alive...i learnt that that hard way ..so i tend not to take any day let alone special days for granted anymore

Happy anniversary! I think it is funny that you both forgot, now you don't have to feel so bad! My husband and I will celebrate 16 years on the 29th of June, and we always just go out for dinner. We don't seem to vary from that, the only time we went away for a time was on our honeymoon. Maybe on our 20th we will try to get away at least for the weekend!

We just had our 12th wedding anniversary. My husband and I make it a point to do something special on our anniversary date. It's either that we eat at a fine dining restaurant or watch a special concert. There's also a special gift for each other even if it is just as simple as a book or a pair of earrings and jeans. Because of the high rate of divorce in the society nowadays, it is always a blessing to be able to celebrate another year in a couple's marriage.

Yes. We do celebrate our wedding anniversaries. We try to spend the whole day together and visit many places together on that day. In fact, yesterday was our wedding anniversary and we really spent a very good time with each other. Anniversaries are the days where you will try to remember the old days, the new days when you got married, how you love each other and share your thoughts. In todays fast world, such days are really required for replenishing our relationships.
