how do YOU handle stress?
do you take bubble baths? do you read? do you do yoga? do you go for walks or runs? do you have a special hobby that takes your mind off everyday complications? do you drink (drink what, hmmmm)? do you sing? do you SCREAM, lol!!??!!
everyone seems to have a different way of dealing with stress, AND everyone has different kinds of stresses, whether it's money, relationships, work, school, whatever it is, personal stress needs to be dealt with.
but how sometimes??

i try not to allow stress and those are are attracted or addict to stress in my life. but when i do find that stress is knocking on my door or trying to climb in my window. i sing, dance, just be as silly as possible. you can't be stressed and happy at the same time.

I usually will take longer break, take warm bath or in summer I will go out as much as I can. Before I sleep, if it's really stressful matter, I will ask for help from the higher power. The only time my request is not answered is when I didn't request it in the first place.
In summer it's very easy to deal with stress, winter is the hardest for me.

that sunshine in the summertime sure helps! makes things happier! yes, i HATE going to sleep with major stress, so i believe prayers help us to fall asleep, with a peaceful thought left in our minds before we doze off. winter is the hardest for you mel? i relax MORE in the winter. weird huh?!! lol!!

Well Freckle I deal with it by just shutting the world out I will hardly talk to anyone and normally I will try and sleep to shut it all out or I will loose myself on the Computer in the web or something it really depends how bad the Stress is
The last one I just shut off again

It varies for me, depending on what has caused me to stress out. When I use to work, a nice quiet drink after work always helped LOL.
I often go for a long walk, to the gym to work it off, take a nice long hot bath, lock myself in my room and either sleep or watch tv, and sometimes I clean.

Before I'm a very stressfull person, I used to have a stress lining in my face, but one day I decided to think of myself and what's really happening to me. I thought of possible reasons for these and promise my self to help my self to get rid of these stress in me. Until one day when were together with my friends were talking and share some stories of our daily activities I can relate with their stories and think that I must be lucky than them. From that moment when I feel stress I just controlled my feeling to be happy and think all others who has more problem than me. I told myself why bothered myself in the person who gave me stress, I can't controll others, so the best thing I can do is to control mine.

For me there are different ways of handling stress.. I won't do these intentionally to handle stress but it happens..
I walk all teh way from my office to home and it works as a very good stress buster.. Byt the time you reach home, you would have forgotten all those office issues..
Cooking also works wonders for me.. When I cook and serve, I forgets other problems..
I am interested in reading also, which really helps in relaxing..

When I can afford it I go to the spa to have a massage or to the salon to have anything done.
If I can't afford those, I write on my private blog. I read fan fictions, I write some more.If I have time I take long walks or talk to a friend if they are vailable and but if not I talk to my other best friends namely *chocolate and coffee*.

i wish i could go to the spas or salons! nice to be pampered once in awhile! but hmmm, chocolate and coffee! i TOTALLY agree with you there!!! ;-}

I will listen to music when I am stressed out and sit in my lazy chair and relax. Bubble baths are a thing of the past for me. I can't relax enough to enjoy them. If I am in need of a major fix, I head for the beach. The sound of the ocean waves calms me. It is the best therapy I know.

that is the ONLY reason i would want to live near a beach, is to hear the relaxing sound of waves, to watch the waves ina ll their beauty, otherwise i don't like the heat, or the sand, and i hate swimming, ha! SO i would have to go up to the northern east coast where it's cooler, but still be on the coast! i love to hear the water, and the birds, so relaxing!

I am not good at handling stress and end up screaming a lot when I am stressed out but if I am able to going for a walk or even listening to music will help me out as well but I am not often able to get away myself to do this so can only do this occasionally so therefore tend to be more of a screamer .
I am obviously not doing a very good job of handling the stress in my life as I have high blood pressure and everytime I have to do in to the doctor's because of it , they are always telling me that I have to find a way to rid the stress out of my life it I hope to get better . They even suggested talking to someone but this is not helping either . I have tried to explain to them that I don't go looking for stress and sometimes no matter what one does , you can't illiminate it from your life unless you were to walk away from your life and this is not an option . Although I would recommend talking , it does not help me out at all .

i tend to scream a lot too. i'm trying to control that more though. it's hard not too though when you're frustrated.
i'm glad you've at least found talking helps. i even think venting on here has helped me in the past. you can find pretty caring people on here! it's wonderful!!

Frecklelip, I pray and ask God to take the anxiety of the stress away and i try to give it to Him. I have a bad habit of taking it back from God and trying to handle it myself. I have seen the time that I cry and cry to try to handle this stress but praying is so much easier.

that's the advice my own mother gives, to offer up everything to God. whether it's good or bad, offer your day to Him. i hate that i have to be reminded of this, but i do. thank you mama for your advice! prayer is VERY powerful!!

I like to take a long very hot shower. Just relax and let the water hit my back and neck. I always come out feeling much better. If I have a house, I would invest in a hot tub. There is something with hot water that just relaxes me to no end.

oh man, i wish i could have a hot tub too! that works wonders, calms your muscles, and your mind. it must be the heat in the hot showers and tubs that are calming. use some lavender body scrub! that will lighten your mood! i love the lavender fragrances!

i've heard great things about yoga. i did some while i was pregnant. my friend and my sister do that, and say it is calming, but my fat booty makes it hard to do the positions anymore, HAHAHAHA! so it's more painful and STRESSES me out that i can't do it very easily, LOL! i like to walk walk walk!! you should try yoga though. let me know if you like it!! my brother, sister and i were going to try tai chi. it's so hard to get all of us together in one place anymore though. but THAT looks relaxing as well. settles your mind!
