Do you ever mark best responses?

I must shamefully admit, I never do.
I of course go back and read all my responses, but I never mark a best response.
Why?
Because I get many good responses.
It is very hard for me to choose.
I appreciate all my responses,
and most I get are very good, it is hard to choose!
So, how about you, do you ever choose a best response?
If not, why?
Is it because you are lazy, or is your reason as mine, because it is hard to choose?
Tell all.

Hello,jennifer21,i had suffered from a glitch which hinder me to choose the best response, once i had chosen it,the discussion would become unresolved again soon, that was why i had not marked the best response for long time,i just did not want to mark it without reading all the responses.I had also received many good replies and it might be hard to make a decision,it might be unfair to the otherif i choose one,the others also deserve for it.

So true,
I feel it is unfair to the other responders who really try to give their best response.
If I was to choose someone's response as the best, the others would feel less important.
I am always eager for any response I get, and to pick and choose only one, I feel, is discriminating.

Sometimes I also fail to mark a best response, either because I do not feel someone has made a really good response, or because I get lots of good responses and, as you said, find it hard to choose. Sometimes I go back to read responses and eventually get to decide whose response was best.

O yes, I mostly mark the best reponses at my discussionsa and if not I do rat the reponses as positive, but never got into any situation to mark any negative rating.....I also like to see my responses when marked as best ones.....so I eagerly daily check to my best responses sections, whether got any increments in those or not.....LOL

No, I don't like to mark best response. People are just giving their opinions and points-of-view which what we were asking for in the first place. It shouldn't be a competition of who can give the best response. I'm sure we can always learn from all the responses no matter how off-topic they may be. They can still be "enlightening".

Yes, but only because my responders are so few on all my questions so far. I think it is still hard to choose, even with only a few choices to pick from for often the responses are all good in some way.

Most of the time I try to choose a best response but it doesn't always happen. I have a few discussions that I know I cannot pick a best one. I feel the same way you do. I get many good responses and its hard to pick just one to be the best. It actually upsets me sometimes, so I just decide to not pick one. I do remember to rate everyone positive. I guess thats better than nothing.

I do mark most of the discussions I start with a best response. But I'll also admit that sometimes it's really hard to choose. If there are alot of 'have never heard about that' type answers (why answer in the first place then, lol) it makes it alot easier to mark the ones who have good responses. But most of the time it is pretty hard to decide.
Also, sometimes if there aren't alot of respnses right away, I wait to see if there are more to choose from, and sometimes forget to go back and mark one.

I actually do mark my Best responses. I don't start many discussions, but when I ask for advice, I do feel it's only right to mark a response which I feel stands out from the rest.
It doesn't mean that I don't appreciate or value any of the other responses any less, and I do respond to all responses as my way of saying Thank you for taking the time to respond.
Sometimes if you have a lot of responses it can be hard to choose. I usually read right through twice and see if any of them stand out to me. If they do then I make a note of the number of the response, and then I'll read through the ones I made note of. I usually can pick a Best Response out of them that way.

hi mymytri , its not that difficult i feel to mark the best response because you can easily judge a good post for your topic by the way the person responds and involves in the discussion , if a person is active in the discussion and if his posts are good that it you got it right ??

i try to choose best response on all of mine, although it IS hard sometimes. i also rate each person who responds. i feel if they have the time to answer mine, i should show appreciation back. so unless it has nothing to do with my topic, i mark a positive for everyone. i'll mark best response when there's that ONE that just sticks out, or really understands what i was saying, and they either REALLY helped or gave really WONDERFUL advice and whatnot. some people don't always get what you're really saying and respond in weird ways, while others may TRULY understand what i'm saying. i also try to respond to each person. again to show my appreciation for actually reading something i had to say. unfortunately i don't think we get credit for those responses in our "post" numbers, but it's a respect thing for me. but it tends to put me behind on answering other people's topics! haha!! i have to be careful!!

Does the poster get anything extra for being chosen as the best response?
I have chosen one, but since I am new here I didn't know if it really helped anyone or not.
If you could let me know that would be great!

Some I do some not. It is hard to sometimes pick which ones is the best. Some I was biased. Some I just pick him as my best response because he's the first person who responded my discussion. hehehe. At some of my discussions, I chose the ones that really deserve to get the mark.

I really don't like have several pages of unresolved discussions. So I do select a best response. But I usually wait until several days after the last response to have a really good selection of responses to choose from.
What bugs me are the discussion I started that have no responses so I can't resolve them. Or when there is only one and is isn't really good at all and I just can't bring myself to label it as a best response!

I do choose best reponse! I think it's only fair as the people that responded to my discussion put in their time and hard work. So even though its VERY hard, I go thru and pick what i feel is the best response! I am lazy sometimes, like recently, where I havent done it for a couple of weeks, but i'll do it. Sometimes it just takes longer than other times. :)
