Four Dolphins Found Shot To Death in California

Four dolphins were washed ashore and found with bullet wounds near San Diego, CA yesterday. Authorities have offered an award for any information as to what happened to these animals. "It's a horrendous thing that happened," said Mark Oswell, spokesman for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. "That someone would go out there and shoot four dolphins." killing dolphins is a violation of the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 and the guilty party or parties could face fines of up to $20,000 and/or jailtime. I personally think that this was one low life person or persons who did this to harm defenseless animals like this. Do you have an opinion on this?

Nuts, just plain nuts. However not shocking, if man can so easily kill another man for nothing more than a thrill, then animals are not going to be the excemption. Now with that said, this is further reason to find this scum bag(s) and put them away. If they have not murder yet, they are well on their way of doing so.

That truly is devastating and a sick act of some lowlife slug who deserves to be shot in the head for what he did. Dolphins are beautiful creatures and very harmless and docile, how anyone could even contemplate harming let alone killing these beautiful creatures needs to put out of their misery and fast. I hope they find them, prison is too good for them. Thrown into a tank of hungry man eating sharks would be preferable in this instance.

I don't understand why people would do something so cruel towards defenseless animals. What have they done wrong? Why must they suffer at our hands? This act is totally unacceptable. Dolphins are the most intelligent and friendly sea creatures around. I hope that person would be caught..... Anyway, they will suffer from retributions!!

I hope they catch them too! That is a sick act to kill defenseless animals that would never do any harm to humans at all. It never ceases to amaze me at these things though when I read the newspaper. You always think well this is about as bad as it can get---Wrong! Something always comes along to top it!

I detest people who do such cruel acts. How could they? Those dolphins are rarely seen and yet they still have the cowardice to even kill a defenseless animal? I'm just wondering as to what is happening to the people in this world

There are some sick people out there! Why in the world would anyone shoot such innocent animals?? I don't get it. I hope they find the person or people that did it and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law!

For every dolphin shooting that makes it on to the news there are 50 more that are unreported or unknown about. They are harvested for food or to make chum for fishing; the more that are killed, the more fish there are to catch and sell. That is a sad part of fishing in coastal waters but it is the truth.

I saw this story on Yahoo and was about sick. How could someone do this?!? Dolphins don't hurt anyone, so it couldn't have been a defense (a shark, maybe, but a dolphin??). I honestly don't think they'll find out who did it unless they recover the shells and see if they were used in another crime and link them to someone. Well, unless someone brags about it and whoever they tell lets the law know. It's sick that people can do this.

I feel that is awful. What would be the purpose? They couldn't have been shot in self defense, they are dolphins.They were just left in the water. I don't understand,why would they have been shot? It makes no sense to me. I doubt they will find who did this senseless act. How could they unless the fools are true idiots & brag about it.

This is just devastating! Whoever did this horrible act is one very sick person. Dolphins bring such joyfulness and grace to God's creation. In a book entitled Messages from Michael, the entity Michael disclosed that, apart from humans, dolphins and whales are the other two ensouled species. I am absolutely saddened by this senseless, perverted act of heedless violence. :-{

What a horrible news. Couldn't believe that somebody would be able to do this to the gentle creatures of the ocean. Dolphins are very gentle and intelligent. They don't deserve to be treated this way. Hope that whoever did this would be penalized.

I have never understood how people can harm an animal for fun. It's beyond being a bully because in most cases a bully's victims can speak up or get help, what can a poor defensless animal do? I really have to wonder what these people do that we don't discover? I hope they don't have children, because who needs spawn from that gene pool?

It does sound like people did this just for sport because obviously they weren't trying to catch the dolphins if they just left the bodies. I wonder how they will be able to catch them. The ocean is a big place and millions of people could be out there at any time so who knows. I hope they find out who did it and send them to jail!!!

These are creatures who love and protect humans. What kind of cruel person would do this? Its a crying shame that anyone would stoop so low...God save our world because with people like that, they would kill everything just for sake of sport....

That is a terrible thing to do and so stupid and pointless, why anyone would want to is a mystery. I hope they do find out who did it and they go to jail as they must be crazy.
