Fair or Unfair?

I just happend to read some article today on the "New 7 Wonders of the world". It says Egypt had a problem competing.... Egyptian officials said "it was a disgrace they had to compete for a spot." And now they are allowed to keep the title, so there will be 8 wonders of the world. So my question is "Is it Fair or Unfair ?" Obviously everybody gets a piece of the cake.... but when everybody takes pride in competing and winning why others prefer to be treated this way? I did like to know your opinions.
