Hopefully if i can get into the clinic I am going to see the doctor. I am pretty sure I have a kidney infection because my sides in the back (where my kidneys are hurt) There are other symptoms here that I would rather not discuss here. lol I don't have health insurance and i have been trying to hold off but its not getting better. I did try drinking cranberry juice but even that didn't help. I'm just hoping that the low income clinic won't turn me away. If they aren't accepting anymore patients I may be out of luck and have to go to the emergency room. I also have no idea where I will get the money for my prescription but I'll worry about that when the time comes. Any prayers or good thoughts for me will help. I am positive and i know i will be fine. So along those same lines.
When was the last time you went to the doctor and did it cost you alot?

Fortunately living in the UK we have the NHS (although sometimes it's more of a lottery as to when you get seen and the care you get from them) so we don't have to pay which is just as well! I will be keeping everything crossed for you my friend, I think it's the not knowing which is the worst scenario, keep us posted and hope you get it sorted out quick without a big hefty bill, hugs x

Sorry you can't get into the clinic! I know kidney and bladder infections can be very painful. Are you drinking a lot of water? You need to do this to flush the kidneys. Drink at least 8 glasses a day. Another tip is to eat yogurt with live cultures. This helps to chase the bad bacteria away.
There is also a product that you can get over the counter that may help with the pain. It's called AZO. It is under $10 and may tide you over until you can see a doctor.
Good luck and I hope you feel better and get well soon!

I'm thankful to be living in Canada! The waits are long, but everyone is entitled to medical aid regardless of income. I can't understand why people are not more important than money? I hope you can find a solution to your health problem Princess? Use that pretty brain of yours! LOL! Take care!

I've actually never been to the doctor or at least not since I was VERY young.
We don't have health insurance and I don't even know if we did have health insurance how often I'd actually go.
I hope that you can get fit in or rather that you got fit in today and the presciption wasn't that much.

Hi, do you have an update? Did you go to the emergency room?
Medical care is soooo expensive. We are without insurance right now because my husband just started a new job and we have to wait before we are eligible.
My husband had to go to the doctor recently and it was $80 just for the office visit!! Plus prescriptions!! Luckily for us, Walmart has their $4.00 generic prescription plan and we were able to get the 2 prescriptions filled there.

I also faced kidney stone problem 6 years before.I consulted an ayurvedic doctor and now i am fine.I think ayurvedic medicine is a good remedy for all kidney problems in the initial stage.Drink lot of water and eat foods with more fibre contents like vegetables.

I'm very sorry to hear that you are not feeling well- Insurance is a big + to have- I know how expensive it is- but being treated without it costs alot more-
My last time I went was a month ago- infection- bacteria- I'm not sure the cost- I paid my co-pay $15 and then the prescription was $10- I wish you well- Maybe when you go to the clinic they can give you a prescription there- low pay- or at least samples to treat whatever ails you- I've never been to a clinic-
Good luck! And I'll be thinking very happy thoughts for you!! Let us know how you make out!

We're pretty lucky in that way in australia as we have Medicare for those who can't afford private health insurance or for those who elect not to have private health insurance. You pay the full amount to the quack then go to bedicare and get about 75% back. If you are on a pension or allowance you also get a pension card or a health care card. The pension card lets you get scripts cheap and the health care card does the same but you also have your driver's licence and car rego free and you get 2 free interstate train trips a year plus a discount on your phone and electricity, I think there are a couple of other perks as well.

This is where I am so glad of the NHS here in the UK! I am so sorry that you are suffering from this sweet sis - I have been there many times with Niamh and I know it isn't pleasant! I think it is a disgrace that in one of the richest countries in the world people cannot get medical treatment cos they cannot afford it! I will be worrying and praying for you my lovely twin. The last time I was at the drs was Friday for a check up on my recovery from back surgery and it did not cost me anything - I am very lucky cos I was in a private hospital where the operation and care would have cost me upwards of £10,000 but I was sent there by the nhs as I had already been waiting too long and had my surgery canceled! Big Hugs xxxx

Thanks sis. Yeh I think the US is so suckie for health care. its just so ridiculous i checked into getting health care for me. The lowest i found was $125 dollars a month WITH a 5000 deductible. By the time i paid the deductible i wouldn't be able to use the health insurance. Its terrible

If it is a kidney infection, you want to get medical attention immediately so I hope that you are able to get help at the low cost clinic. Hopefully, they will also be able to help you get the medication you need to cure the infection. Cranberry juice can be helpful in preventing bladder infections, but it is not a cure for any kind of infection. If you have any questions about medical conditions or medication you can submit your questions for free here

Hi Mssnow I feel sad to hear that being in a developed country you have been deprived of health care support.I pray to God that you will come round soon with proper medication .Kidney infection treatment is not so costly if properly medicated in early stage. You have to go for ultrasonograph... and if there is no trace of any stone formation than It wont take many days to cure fully.Drink water as much as you can regularly. That will definitely help you to recover soon. All the best.

The week before Christmas 2001, I ended up in for emergency surgury for a hernia. In my case, even though I did get some financial assistance, I was not all paid up until mid-2006. I also did not, & still do not, have any form of health insurance.

I had the same problem as you and found out it was because I was drinking to many beverages with sugar in them, like tea, sodas etc. Drink lots of water and flush out your kidneys. Drinking cranberry juice will promote urination but it wont flush you out.

the last time was an operation. and yes it did cost a lot, even if if i have hmo, it did no cover all the expenses...
try drinking plain water, at least 3 liters a day. its uncomfotable, i know, with going in and out of the cr but in a couple of days, your symptoms should ease. but dont put off your trip to the clinic. we only have two kidneys, take care of it. my mom did have inf before, and she put hold off long enough until there was no solution but to remove her rt kidney.inf can be because of many things, one is kidney calculi. i hope i hav convince u to go see ur doctor
