Ron Paul Excluded in Iowa

This is so not right. Ron Paul is being censored by Iowa. People from Iowa are being cheat out of hearing all Presidential Candidates. Here is a copy of an email from Kent Snyder, Chairman, www.RonPaul2008.com : " June 19, 2007 Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance will host a presidential candidates forum on Saturday, June 30th in Des Moines. Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Sam Brownback, Jim Gilmore, Mike Huckabee, Tommy Thompson, and Tom Tancredo will participate. Ron Paul, however, will not participate. Why? Because he wasn’t invited. We heard about this forum from numerous supporters in Iowa who asked why Dr. Paul was not going to participate. Those supporters assumed that Dr. Paul was invited. The campaign office had not received an invitation so we called this morning; thinking we might have misplaced the invitation or simply overlooked it. Lew Moore, our campaign manager, called Mr. Edward Failor, an officer of Iowans for Tax Relief, to ask about it. To our shock, Mr. Failor told us Dr. Paul was not invited; he was not going to be invited; and he would not be allowed to participate. And when asked why, Mr. Failor refused to explain. The call ended. Lew then called Mr. Steve Sheffler, president of the Iowa Christian Alliance, to talk with him. Mr. Sheffler did not answer so Lew left a message. He has yet to respond. Why are the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance excluding the one Republican candidate who scored at the top of every online poll taken after the MSNBC, Fox News, and CNN debates? Why are they denying Iowans the opportunity to hear from the Republican presidential candidate whose popularity is growing by the day? We couldn’t get answers to these questions from Messrs. Failor and Sheffler. Maybe you’ll have better luck. Their contact information is below. It's ironic that on the same day we learned the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance excluded Dr. Paul from their candidates forum, we received a call from ABC News confirming Dr. Paul’s participation in its nationally broadcast August 5th debate to be held in Des Moines. Kent Snyder, Chairman Ron Paul 2008 Contact Information Edward Failor Iowans for Tax Relief 2610 Park Avenue Muscatine, Iowa 52761 Phone: 563-288-3600 or 877-913-3600 Fax: 563-264-2413 E-mail: itr@taxrelief.org Steve Sheffler, President Iowa Christian Alliance 939 Office Park Road, Suite 115 West Des Moines, Iowa 50265 Phone: 515-225-1515 Fax: 515-225-1826 E-mail: slscheffler@iowachristian.com " I emailed both Mr. Failor and Mr. Sheffler telling them it is wrong to deny their citizens the right to hear all the candidates speak. I don't care what party a person is or isn't, the public has a right to hear all options before them! Here's an update I received moments ago from www.RonPaul2008.com : " June 20, 2007 Jan Mickelson of WHO News Radio 1040 in Des Moines interviewed Ron Paul 2008 chairman Kent Snyder today about Ron Paul being excluded from the upcoming candidates forum sponsored by Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance. Ed Failor of Iowans for Tax Relief joined the interview later to explain why his group decided to keep Ron Paul out. "Congressman Ron Paul isn't welcome at the Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance candidates forum. Oversight? Nope. Kent Snyder from Ron Paul's campaign and Ed Failor from ITR exchange words. Lotsa them." -- Wednesday, June 20, 2007, WHO News Radio 1040 Direct Download of MP3 File (interview starts at 1:01:16) http://media.libsyn.com/media/mickelson/mickelson-2007-06-20.mp3 Background http://blog.ronpaul2008.com/ron_paul_2008/2007/06/ron_paul_exclud.html " I urge you all, no matter your preference of party or state of citizenship to email the gentlemen listed above and give your opinion to them. The censorship in one state can affect the entire vote tally for all U.S. citizens. Stand up for your right to hear all candidates! Your state could be next to be led in this poor manner.

That is because Ron Paul is becoming a real threat to the neocons, it was just a matter of time that they would exclude him from a debate, Ron Paul is gaining alot of popularity and people are sick of the other candidates, they all basically say the same thing just in different ways, now Ron Paul stands for freedom, truth and he tells us the way it really is, like I said it was just a matter of time before they censored him.

If it weren't for the internet, he'd be getting almost no coverage. This little neocon plot will backfire on them just like the after-debate where Sean Hannity kept acting like it was the Hannity & Colmes show instead of a presidential candidates' debate. The lack of respect that was shown to Dr. Paul just made even more people sit up and pay attention. All I know to do is keep running my mouth all over town & the net. If you want to help promote Ron Paul, pm me & we'll talk about how you can do just that at no cost to you ever.

Ron Paul is a maverick. He doesn't represent Big Brother Machine, and he's not a slave to the obviously corrupt parties/corporate government we have. Much of the Christian Right will only support their "conservative" "family value" oriented conservative extremists... That's my best explanation... That and the big boys don't want us to hear Ron Paul's words.

I just found out this morning that Mr. Failor (one of the officials mentioned above) is Senior Advisor to John McCain's campaign! Talk about bold! Check out the article: http://infowars.net/articles/june2007/210607Truth.htm

One of those neocons is trying to stack the deck for McCain: http://infowars.net/articles/june2007/210607Truth.htm Ain't nothing Christian or honest about that. That man ought to be ashamed of himself.

Yeah McCain is horrible. He is New World ORder trash. I mean he met with Henry Kissenger before.. he said he was going to run for president. Henry Kissenger is the founder of the BilderBerg Group... 130 elites who are a big part of the NWO. The only good thing about them.. is that they fight to much with each other.. for power. that is delays the NWO.. its so funny! They know Ron paul is a big problem for them. and McCain is just about puppet.. that is why so MANY are running this year.. they know they have to try to get people to vote for one of their puppets.. because if Ron Paul wins.. they are in TROUBLE

Hm, not exactly a smooth move was it? Them excluding him I mean. I still believ Mr Paul is one of our few people who can make a big enough a difference to help us win this thing. But recently, though he's only said the truth something at the back of my mind's been asking me to give the 'doubt Mr Paul' point of view most other people have had a bit of thought. Though I don't agree that he's mega over protective, too religious, or that he's a liar (everything he's said has checked out, after all). It makes me wonder why so many people are saying, 'He sucks'..for those who have noticed he exists, anyways. Me and my brain which thinks to much came up with a question, though I don't believe its true yet..I think it's something to think about. Since Paul seems to be one of our few options to deal with the current events of our country at the very least, and if we're wrong about that we'll just have to deal with things when they come about. The question is, what if this is one of the sneakiest ploys the NWO people have employed? Like a back up if their original plan failed? Since we know that we're not dealing with total idiots, and they've seemed to plan for a great deal..what if they put Ron Paul in there as like their second option. A plan B, so to speak. By telling the truth to decieve? I mean we know the history of politicians..most of them will present true things..things they know that is what we believe is in our best interest, and then when they go into the white house then they do the exact opposite of what they said they were going to do. As I said, I don't believe this. It's just me overhtinking things again..but even if this is true only in our nightmares it would be their most clever move yet. It's silly though..they think they can just exclude him and that nobody'll notice. *laughs* I'll email the folks right away.

Don't think that same "silly" thought hasn't crossed my mind, it has. What tends to make me think I'm over analyzing is the fact that Ron Paul can not only give a straight answer, like you said, it all checks out...unlike the stumble-fking-around the lies some of the others keep getting caught in. It is yet another conspiracy in the war against freedom perpetrated by the nwo...all these so-called theories keep leading right back to the Federal Reserve...imagine that. Thanks for emailing these folks, you'll be glad you did after you see how far up McCain's behind Mr. Failor is: http://infowars.net/articles/june2007/210607Truth.htm Grrrr...these so-called Christians really make me angry sometimes. Give themselves a label that stands for truth and love then pull some bs like this. Hypocritical sob's...makes me sick. I heard that McCain & Giuliani are not showing for this event, tho they were both invited. I must say that is a smart move on their parts not wanting to show support for this type of shenanigans...or at least not wanting to be obvious about it. I need to get back to freeagle and find out where he read/heard that part of it. Hopefully karma will play a part in this too...hopefully their comearounds are about to goaround (oh please, please, please let that be the case)... Hope is all that is left, I think.

Thanks for the link, I'd heard Mr McCain had something to do with it. Meh..people. I heard an interview with Failor on one of the alternative internet radios I listen to, today..and his excuses did sound kinda feeble and shaky. As if he was taken by surprise or frightened or something. Ah well, I think it just shows that.. most people will go along with anything if they're told it's for a good cause.

This really isn't good for Ron Paul. However it's just adding fuel to the internet fire as he and his messages are spreading and getting coverage, much like Dean did. Bill Maher had him on his show a month or so ago and he went over really well with the ultra-liberal crowd their and Mr. Libertarian himself Bill Maher. (whom I like btw) I think it's just a matter of time before he hits the mainstream. That is of course providing that the Rebpublicans in charge of the GOP don't shut him out completely. Ron Paul supports the old time Republican values and reminds of Republicans from long ago. That doesn't mesh well with the self-serving neocons and moral majority. I'm watching him closely, and honestly I really like what I see.

Don't count the Media out entirely. Rupert Murdoch doesn't own every major media outlet. If you want to see Dr. Ron Paul in the media. Write to them. Not email, take pen to paper and start a campaign for everyone else to do the same thing. Look start a website, even a free blog. List all the addresses of the major media outlets: NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, FOXNEWS, MSNBC etc, etc, and encourage everyone to write in and demand interviews with Dr. Ron Paul. That is a step further, write into Barbara Walters, Lou Dobbs, and other well known anchors. It isn't rocket sicence. There is an agenda but all these news networks are more concerned with ratings. If they see an interest that a large amount of people will tune in for, they will cover the story. I totally agree that the voting system has issues that need to be addressed. Voting absentee won't do it. It's still entirely too easy to commit voter fraud with them. I'm as disgusted as you are, but you can't just wipeout the current system. You have to work from within to change it.

Good news, sort of. The people at that rally in Iowa refused to invite Dr. Paul & said he was not wanted there...BUT...Dr. Paul is holding his own rally in the building next door. Originally, I had it in my head that the Iowa people relented and invited Dr. Paul, then I heard on the radio that he would be holding his own rally right next to their little faux forum. Thanks for stopping by, Lydia.

This is part of the reason I don't like the Republican Party. They don't seem to be all inclusive. They are too quick to exclude candidates who don't tow the party line. Ron Paul and Rudy Gulianni are probably the best 2 candidates on the Republican side, but neither will be elected, because the Republican National Comittee is going to back McCain, Romney or Thompson. All three of these Presidential candidates are unelectable. I wish Ron Paul the best, but the writing is on the wall as far as the RNC is concerned. If the RNC was a fair organization, they would see to it that Ron Paul would be included in every debate. The fact that they aren't fighting for him shows you something. Look at the democratic side. They let everyone debate, thus appearing to be a unified front. Best of luck. Lloyd

I appreciate where you're coming from, but I can't come from there. I won't throw in the towel on Ron Paul because he is the best man for the job. His voting record in Congress speaks volumes. We have the right to write-in our candidate of choice. I intend to do just that if his name is barred from the ticket. Maybe if more people exercised their right to vote for who they want, we wouldn't be in the "we take what they give us" or "choosing the lesser of the two evils" crowd anymore. I was raised a Democrat by a long line of die-hard Democrats, but I have never believed in party labels. The Democratic party presents a lot of great points, as do the Repulicans, Libertarians, and many Independents. I cannot choose a party in good conscience, so ignoring the label and choosing the best person for the job has been my practice. Thanks for stopping by, Lloyd. I enjoy the different perspective you often force me to consider, lol. Shannon

We are suppose to be free in a free country...ok...we should always have the right to hear all canidates. What is the reason for this exclusion and who exactly is the person responsible for it??

Well, I have this -*crazy*- idea that the reason for the exclusion is the fact that one of the directors for the event, the Mr. Failor mentioned throughout the discussion, is directly involved in McCain's campaign and is also a cash donor to McCain's campaign fund. This event is long since over, but Dr. Paul is still being excluded in the media. I blame that on the greased palm of Rupert Murdoch, owner of nearly all the mainstream media (most recent purchases are the Wall Street Journal & freaking MySpace). They don't want us to hear Ron Paul, they want to keep his ideals hushed, lest the people choose not to vote for "their" picks in the primaries.

Just the fact that they are beginning to censor him should tell us to listen up. What he is saying has real value to anyone who values their freedom... I agree with the earlier post about Ron Paul becoming a threat to the neocons. The people who are in control of our rights (which is actually our FREEDOM, by another name) want to keep it that way. Ron Paul wants to give us back our freedom, and they don't like that idea. I say, visit Dr. Paul's myspace page and ask him to be your friend. When he accepts, voice your opinion about this "block-out" and the fact that you would like him to visit your state. If enough people do this, his campaign trail will lead him to you and show that there are Iowans who support him. We need to exercise the freedoms we still have and let the public know that we support Ron Paul regardless of the fact that there are people who don't.

He's my #2 on myspace *shakes ivy's hand* and I agree wholeheartedly with what you are saying. More people are paying attention than what we can imagine. Hannity's little "fun fest" at Dr. Paul's expense caused more people to ask that very question (who is Ron Paul and what is he saying that "they" don't want us to hear?). If you'd like to help spread the word and ask people to pester the mainstream media until they give him proper coverage, the addresses to the 4 major news networks, along with several videos of Ron Paul in interview and speaking to Congress are here: http://people4ronpaul.blogspot.com I'm currently working on an article concerning his near arrest in Florida for passing out campaign pamphlets/flyers to update the blog (and awareness). Thank you for your support, Ivy.

Well, thanks, but there isn't going to be an article. I misunderstood what I heard on the radio since I came in midstream. A friend in Florida corrected me, tho. Apparently the attempted arresting was not against Dr. Paul personally since he wasn't even there (insert red faced smiley here). Ron Paul campaigners were threatened with arrest for handing out pamphlets and other campaign materials (pencils, buttons, etc.) without renting a damn booth for it. Gimme a break.

I hadn't heard about his near arrest in Florida, but it doesn't surprise me. It only reinforces my belief that the people in charge will go to just about any extent to stay in charge and keep us "cattle" in line. The world needs many more politicians like Dr. Paul! Thanks for that blog link, I'm going to do anything I can to support Ron Paul's campaign, since I can't do so financially, I'll do it by spreading the word. Good luck with your article... you should post some highlights from it here when it's finished!

Hi again, I am so grateful you are a sane voice in the political arena of your country. My hubby and I live in Canada and follow the politics of the U.S...to stay informed but also to remind us who is inhabiting the planet with us. American politics can be entertaining, alarming and disturbing. Especially the way the Goverment comes out with so many oxymorons within their talking points. The lack of accountability within the adminstration and others jockying for the position just one of the many reasons Dr. Paul is so threatening to them and why they are doing their best to minimize the impact of his powerful approach. If you can think of anything we can do as Canadians to assist you in your quest to hold your political leaders accountable for their actions...let me know. I sent you some information about a program that clearly revealled how the Bush Adminstration distorted the facts and used the media to divide the country. It aired on the 5th Estate and well worth seeing. The information there augments the importance of Dr. Paul's platform. It would be fascinating to see what kind of an administration he would have. We do not take what happens in the U.S. lightly...our borders are close to yours and are pulling for people like you who have the courage to be the voice for those who cannot...or will not speak for themselves. If you can keep the momentum going maybe you will be able to attract the great numbers of Americans who do not exercise their right to vote. In any case...I admire and applaud your efforts and will stay tuned. I have bookmarked this discussion and will send it out to friends and allies in our corner of the Universe to at least get other Canadians thinking, checking out your information. Hopefully we can assist you in keeping the buzz around Dr.Paul buzzing!

Thank you for your acknowledgments. I am glad that my response added some comfort to you. As I mentioned before the amount of energy and drive you have as you work for the greatest good of the all is outstanding...and to be commended. If there were more people like you who were willing to make the effort to inform themselves and take action it might be easier to hold the government more accountable for the cause and effect of their actions. I agree with you on the impeachment issue and cannot fathom what it would take to make it happen. The good old boys club reigns supreme with Bush in office. The other alarming thing is how this adminstration has divided the country in the name of patriotism. I suppose that is why they have been able to get away with so much. Those who do point things out are silenced by the cry..."You are not supporting the war...so you must be the enemy!" On top of that everyone is so busy attacking the opposing party line there is no time left over to really hold the offenders accountable. No argument that it is a big mess! Anyway keep up the good work, I am glad to have you as an on-line friend. I will follow up through the media sites you suggested and we will keep chatting.
