I was in Cambodia a couple of months ago and came across a stall across my hotel that serve fried spiders and steam snails. The snails not like the one you get at Paris with Garlic and butter. This are tiny little one that you have to get a toothpick to get the littlr flesh out.WOW it taste muddy, which I found out later the get the snails for the muddy swarmp. My friend said the spider was ok if you bite on the legs it was crunchy, but not the stomach ,she just want to puke.

i will try those if i get the chance. we eat snails occasionally here in the philippines. we call them "kuhols". so far it tastes fine but i find it difficult to eat because we also dig in it with toothpicks. farmers get it from muddy rice fields. i would really want to try to eat spiders. i have not eaten one. i hope i can have chance as we do not eat spiders here.

No, I think I'd pass on the spiders and the snails. I had escargot once but the only reason they tasted okay was because they were drenched in butter.

I have tried the snail with butter ,garlic and herbs on it which very good! But i have no idea about the swampy snail that you mentioned above ,i don't think i would try it because it sounds disgusting to me...:) However i am one hundred percent sure i am not going to try the fried spider and i promise i never will...:)

Personally, I would not try it. But, I tend to be easily made sick by stuff like that. I hate spiders to start with. They are too creepy to ever be able to eat, for me. I doubt that I would try snails like that either. It just sounds nasty to me.
