What role do you play in your group of friends?

I was thinking lately how well matched my group of friends are. We got so many different people that compliment eachother. I'm the quiet, laid back one in the group. I don't participate in discussions all that much, but when I do say something it's worth listening to.
My best friend is the story teller, she reads a lot and always have something new to tell.
Which role do you play in your social group?

It seems lately that I have inadvertently become the "mom" or the "grandmother" of my groups that I interact with. I did not do this on purpose. So how did this happen? I am not even the oldest person in some of the groups that I hang out with. Yet, here I am. In the motherly role. But I have to admit.....I love ALL my "kids".

I tend to end up in that role too sometimes! I usually do the cooking and make sure everyone is doing good.. which is amusing since all of us are the same age.
It does feel good to take care of your friends!

I tend to be the voice of reason. Telling them "No, no! Don't do that! Yes, try that!" Or I am the counselor who listens to the problems and makes the suggestions for solving the problems. It is a good feeling though when they come to me instead of the lady down the street.

I am mostly the laid back and interactive person in my group of friends. Sometimes I do not start up the conversations in my group of friends. I always answer them. They always do or say something funny and I laugh along with them, not at them. When I do laugh at something, I think it is worth it. I tend to be more outgoing, depending on the kind of mood I am in.

I'm a bit like that too. Some days I hardly interact, while others I take the center stage.
It's nice to have fun friends that can make you laugh!

I would have to be the storyteller, the clown and the listener. Well, I have to say I multi-task. haha... I tend to be an all around friend. Partly because I happen to belong to a group of friends that are quite shy and timid, therefore most of the time I had to do all the talking, I have to talk to one of my friend's mom to convince her to let my friend go out together with us. Yes, I would have to say I portray a lot of roles in my social group.

...I really am a story teller, aren't I? Never thought about it that way. Which is an interesting contrast to any family gathering where I'm the silent one, listening to others and maybe saying one sentence.

I am the type that doesn't like to talk much and don't even listen much either. But when sitting in a group, I will do both things rotatingly so that I will not get bored. When going out I prefer to go with only one friend so that I can concentrate her only and not have to entertain many people. Well, that's me. Can't help it.

I'm always there to listen if someone needs to talk. I'm usually not too outspoken, although I can be at times. I generally am the laid back one, although there are times when I can be the exact opposite. It depends on which group of friends I am around.

i notice that when my friends and i get together i tend to talk a lot and make everyone laugh, so i guess that makes me kind of the joker and slash storyteller in the group. but there are times when i keep quiet and just listen to what the discussion is about... ;)

4-5 yrs back i was ambivert. Ambivert in the sense that i could never start any conversation but once the conversation has been started by the other person, i used to participate.
Now i m extrovert. I can interact with anyone, anytime and anywhere. i find it interesting to talk with everyone.

I'm the quiet one that tends to think more with the head and the heart. Also you can say I'm the older yet wiser one lol

Well it all depends which group of friends I'm with. I have friends dotted all around the country as I've moved about quite alot, and all my friends are different types of people. To all I'm the 'responsible' one - the one that stops people from drinking to much or the shoulder to cry on. But with some I'm the funny/sarcastic one, to other's I'm the brains who knows it all lol, to others I'm the quite one (which I am mainly, I like to observe and listen, much like yourself) It's weird really that you can be all these things but still be one person..
