I'm a conversation stopper

hehehe welcome to the conversation stopper club. Yesterday I responded to quite a few conversation and most of them have my post as the latest response. I don't think your countenance or your avatar has anything to do with people responding though. It just happens according to the discussion we replied to. Maybe we found it very interesting and others don't. Anyway, nice smiling avatar you have there.

It must be that new avatar...Its stunning !!! I think that the people just see it and are at a loss of words... You knock em out....

same thing has happened to mine, I am thinking that maybe their isn't alot of people on mylot at the moment thats why.. I have 3 conversations going but only a few responses I don't know why though usually I get over 15 responses from them.. I don't think it has anything to do with your avatar either.. Ha I had a winnie the pooh one on mine and still got replies.. Don't worry though they will respond to you.. Have a great day and happy posting!

LOL I have a very similar discussion that I started. I called myself the conversation killer!! Wonder how and why this happens.

I'm glad I'm not the only "conversation stopper", I've had that happen to me too! ...and this was before changing to my current avatar.

Maybe your not a conversation stopper at all. Maybe by the time you respond to the conversation, there really isn't anything left to add to the conversation. So think of that as a good thing, at least I would.

Tonite I lowered myself to wear the jersey of my most hated college team in exchange for a superior place in line at the harry potter auction. That, and $20 to buy the g/d/ book. Yes, a former student had a high asking price and I caved. Anything for my daughter. However, revenge was mine as I have a role of toilet paper at home with this team's logo on it. My bowel movement was quite gratifying. Pay backs are H-E-L-L.

i have noticed the same thing with a lot of the discussions i reply to...but i think it is becuase i am such a forthright b*tch. i'm not afriad to speak my mind and tell people exactly what i think. But i am also empathetic and compassionate and have a lot of advice to offer...more life experience than i should have at 23. So yeah, umm, i won't change who i am or how i approach things. i won't change my avatar from honoring AFI into a picture of myself smiling (which is a rare occurance unless i am with AFI or my best friends) or a sunshine or rainbows. Not worth it to me. If people are put off by my avatar, that is tou bad for them. i hope you get the results you are looking for. By the way, i love your name. Obviously you are as into tattoos as my friends and i are.

You too? Wow! I just thought it was me. Most times these days when I post a discussion people avoid me like I am a plague carrier. And, I'm not. I was tested for plague recently. Totally negative! LOL! I think I have been gone a lot lately so my regular peeps are just forgetting about me. I hope that is not true. I haven't been avoiding anyone, just crying a lot lately. So, that's my excuse for not showing up more often. I think the My Lot email system is messed up, or so I've heard. So, the owners of the discussions don't know when someone has responded to their stuff. Or, at least I can only hope that's the problem.

As a conversation stopper myself, I sympathize with you and that is in spite of me not scaring everyone off by using my portrait as an avatar. Maybe that's the reason my pay rate went down.

Ha.. I've noticed the same about my own responses. I tell myself it's because my responses are so manifestly brilliant and irrefutable, that they are necessarily the last word on any topic. Either that or I'm just creepy, and I poison any discussion to which I respond. I wonder who will be the last to respond to this discussion?

Haha, I have not read any of your posts. But I guess I should in order to find out what not to do. Hope I do not smell anything while I am there though (covers nose). Maybe it is just a coincidene? I mean you have like two thousand four hundred and fourty six posts here on mylot Im sure not ALL of it has come to a grinding halt. :p

I was having the same feeling about the topics I posted. Maybe people are out enjoying the sun, but again today here it is raining. Or maybe I have to change my pic too. Seems like you're getting people chatting again with your new cute pic! ;) Your other one was good too! LOL Vicki
