I don't have difficulty with either because I am in Canada too and have been exposed to it at an early age. Our community is mostly acadian decent and many people here are bilingual. My childern are also learning both languages. I think it is easier if you learn it when you are younger rather than older though. Vicki

I don't study French, but I study Spanish and I have heard that it is similar to French. Spanish is very difficult in my opinion, and I think anytime you are trying to learn a new language it is going to be difficult. It is said that English is the hardest language to learn.

I learnt French for 2 months long ago but now I nearly cannot speak one word out.Personally I think when you want to learn one kind of language ,you must have two questions for yourself,1,do you need this language or does it make use after learning it,2,confirm that if you are in the enviornment where this language could be used often.

I'm from Quebec, Canada, so our first language is french. For us it's imple, but when it come to grammar, even some peiople here have a lot of difficulty, so I guess it can be hard for someone that is learning french as a second or third language. It's more hard in grammar then to speak it.

When I was young my elementary school had a French teacher instead of a Spanish teacher like all the other schools. We read children's books and learned a few things, and when I entered high school I had an easy time relearning French. I didn't find it very difficult, but the more you learn the more strange grammar rules being to confuse you. I think that learning French has made it much easier for me to learn Spanish, though I'm still not very good. So that I don't forget all the French I've learned I buy books written in French online, watch movies in French, and read French webpages. Right now I'm trying to learn German and am finding it much more difficult than either French or Spanish.
