I have been thinking to post about this a week ago, but as usual, I am on that "I'll-write-it-later-when-I-get-the-time" attitude. And NOW, I never want another week to pass by without telling about this! :) *hehe*
During the homily of Father Mario last Sunday, he mentioned about the words that can be referred to Fathers. He mentioned a lot! :) But one thing strike me most...
Out of the words we refer to our fathers, he mentioned "ERPATS". For Filipinos out there (and reading this), I know you understand what it is. The word "erpat" is what some kids say as reference to their fathers. Instead of Papa or Daddy, they call their fathers as "erpats".
The word "erpat" is a street word and has a negative connotation for me. It's because when one mentioned that word, for ME, it's like he/she doesn't have any respect for his father.
But last Sunday, I learned something from the homily of Father Mario. He said that when you re'word' "ER-PAT", it is "PATER". And PATER is a Latin word which means....... father. :)

I am Papa's Little Girl. I am the only daughter and I got 2 brothers. Papa really pampers me since I was a kid, even til now. :) *hehe*
I call him Papa, but most of the time, I call him "Popsie". Cute. =)

God bless everyone! \(",)_

I call my father "ayah". Actually there are many other names to call a father in our language. They are "abah", "bapak", "abi", "pak", "papa" and "babah". "Ayah" is the most frequently used word and it is also used by most of our relatives too.

Yeah, that is just something else. I call my father dad or daddy. I do not know of what else to call him. I would never call him by his first name.

I call my biological father "Dad," and when I was little I called him "Daddy." I call my step-father by his first name, Dave, since I have a father. I call my step-mother by her first name too, since I have a mother, and I call my mother Mom.

I'm a Papa's girl too. I can open up anything to my father. He can't say "no" to me.. LOL! I call my father Papa, and all my cousins calls him Daddy, and my baby calls him Daddy or Daddylo. Whenever i need something or i want something from him, he knows it straight away because i'll call him "Pang" or "Paps" using my sweet-innocent voice... LOL!!
cheers! :D
