Hi Guys just wanted to let you know that I am not ignoring anyone here, I just haven't been well for the last few days! I was really stupid and as I was fed up feeling 'spaced out' from all my medications I decided not to take any of them at all for a whole day That night I really thought that I was dying, my head felt like it was being crushed in a vice, my muscles and joints ached and I could not stop 'shouting down the big white telephone' (vomitting) all of this made my back much worse too! The upshot was a dr had to come out to the house and I was suffering from withdrawal - as well as a urinary infection! Now I know why those addicted to drugs will do almost anything to get another fix - it was truly awful! So now as well as having to start back on my usual medications - as soon as my stomach is up to it - but I also have to take an anti sickness medication for 3 days and an antibiotic! To anyone out there on medication please do your research before you stop taking them as some have to be cut down gradually - the side effects of suddenly stopping them can be really horrific! So to anyone out there who was thinking I was ignoring them - I wasn't and I will catch up as quickly as I can - although I am still having a problem with headaches so I cannot be online too much til that goes! Love you all xxxxx

Mummymo, my dear, sweet friend, there is absolutely no need to apologise here. If you are ever absent from the site without explanation, I know there's something wrong. What you have been going through indeed sounds horrific, and I hope you recover from it very soon.
My Brightest Blessings come to you along with much love and a great big ((((((((((HUGGGGGGGGGGGGG))))))))))) in the hope of your early recovery. My thoughts are with you my friend. xxxx

There's no need to apologize here. We all have our lives and everyone should understand that. Funny story...I take a lot of psych meds and didn't take one for a couple of days and when I finally took one it made me very sick. The bad thing is this is one I know I really need but I'm afraid to start taking it again! Funny but not funny huh?

hi mummymo, not sure why you take medication, but you make sure you come off them correctly! it sounds like you need to take a pill or two and lie on your back with the pc angled for you to chill out on mylot!
take care and have some fun as well. and never mind about the big porcelin telephone, it will always be there!

Well petra they are mainly strong painkillers and anti inflammatories as I have chronic back problems and waiting for an mri to see if I need a second surgery. Love your advice and I have to admit it is what I usually do - if I hadn't got a laptop I would have lost all my marbles long ago! lol I have learned to be very respectful of my medication now though! xxx

A big ouch! We have one or two copies of nursing medicine guides, and the internet is a great way to learn about the meds you are taking. I also always found my pharmacy to be the greatest for answering my questions. I hope you get to feeling better as you gradually add your meds back in. Hugs.

You know I have no one to blame but myself - my other half said the doctor should have warned me but I know I should have thought more before I did something stupid! My doctor however has warned me that I have to build up my intake of them - so I won't overdose! Thanks for being so nice honey! xxxx

That is all right. I have a sister-in-law who has to take medications for the rest of her life and they were experimenting to see what kind would work for her. So I understand what medications are like and that you cannot just go cold turkey even if others say, you should. They do not understand that you need the medication and you would rather be healthy and not have to take them. So keep your hopes up and take it easy for a while.

I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well, I haven't been on here much myself lately. I've been busy getting Cheryl ready for the start of the new school year so between that and not having the energy during the day (because of the heatwave we've had) I only get on here once in a while right now. I hope you feel better soon, Cheryl misses "chatting" with you on MSN and so do I.

Sweety it is so good to hear from you! I miss you guys too - give the cherub a huge hug from me and tell her I miss her! Can you mail me your address again as I have a postcard to send to the cherub! When does she start back at school - mine go back a week on Monday! Feeling better but can't stay online too much or my head will get really bad again! xxx

I hope you are doing better now? I have heard that some meds have to be reduced gradually. When my mom found out she no longer needed a certain heart medication, the doctor still had her gradually reduce the amount. How awful for you to go through all this. Even coffee will give you withdrawal headaches if you stop drinking it cold turkey.

Holy cow- you really did yourself an injury huh??? Yes those medications can come back and bite you in the A$$ if you are not careful. I used to take Zoloft...the dr kept increasing it every year till i was taking 150mg per night....well when my insurance increased i coudln't afford to take it anymore so i just stopped-- not a good idea... i became dizzy and headachy and i could feel the change in my blood pressure...well you are not suppose to just stop taking them you need to wean yourself off of them slowly... I could have really harmed my self by doing what i did.
