The News is terrible today!

A woman kills herself and her 2 kids; a bridge collapses in China; flooding in North Korea; a Russian train is derailed and many injured; hurricane and earthquake in Hawaii; a man barges into a church in Missouri and opens fire killing 3 people! Good grief! I think I'll go watch a soap opera or something!

These are all sad events. Wouldn't it be nice to read that everyone was doing well, no one was injured today. The whole world is at peace. That would be great news, unfortunately it isn't going to happen. I am going to hug my family members extra long today.

And what about the guy that is suing 1 800 Flowers because after he sent his girlfriend flowers they sent a "thanks for your business" card to his house. Unfortunately his wife got the card and called them. He's now suing for 1.5 million dollars. Don't know why, but that one made me chuckle all day. Bad news yes, a little disgusting that he's suing, but a definite lighter moment in the news.

This is exactly why I hardly watch the news.. The only time I really do is when something good is going to be on it, You know something exciting not that there really ever is though.. I don't like hearing bad things on tv so I tend to stay away from the news section.. I do though watch the weather, I got to see what's happening in the section... Sad news though is very depressing if you ask me...

Hundreds more killed in Iraq, Motorcyclist shot on the motorway, people dying of e-coli poisoning, more foot & mouth disease possibly found, massive floods, fire in an oil-rig. Trouble with watching soap opera's is that if some of the bad news that is happening today was put in as part of the story, it wouldn't be believed.

I think we need to get you away from the news. How does a spa sound? We'll get you nice fresh from the garden food, a wonderful massage, and we'll even get you a pedicure. Now, I only need to find someone to PAY for it!

My idea of relaxation is a good book, so that's what I'll do. I just read the news online about once a week so I can find topics to start discussions with. That day was just a "good" news day, I guess. Yuck!

I tend not to watch the news as much as I once did. If the news media jumped on the good acts instead of the bad ones, or at least give them an even balance. I am sure that there are just as many good news stories as bad ones. Maybe we need to protest and let it be known that we want a balance between the good and the bad.

Certainly, sometimes one comes to think that the world is upside down. When you feel that way, it's wise to leave problems aside and get a little distraction, be it a soap opera, a TV show or a light novel. Lot of good things happen in the world too, but that is no news for the media.

I know what you mean hon. It's just so depressing on the news nowadays. When something positive does come on, it's like a shock to the system to hear it. I think I'll watch the soaps with you, so make room on the sofa will ya? LOL

Sounds pretty horrible, but it is worse. The government in Canada is increasingly anti Christian and there are members on myLot that are glad because of that. That makes me sick. The congress in the United States are full of democrats who regard not God and pass laws for the destruction of pre born infants and the elderly. The radical homosexuals want their lifestyle to be preached as virtuous to innocent children in the schools of both nations. Gay parades where men do vile things to each other in the presence of an audience are regarded as no bad thing and because of all this, the climate is going hay wire. Yes, we are in the last days.

wow! makes me want to break into singing that Anne Murray hit from so long ago.... sure could use, a little good news today.... we do not have television reception, and our small town has a newspaper once a week and it is only about 7 pages. the surrounding towns that have papers are also only once a week. I am kind of cut off from the news and other than the weather I can't say as I miss it much.
