After all these weeks of many glitches and deleted discussions that seem not to violate any guidelines I did a lot of searching and reading the mylot pages. The main reason was due to a friends displeasure in a few issues they are having with the mylot site. Here is an interesting page that I am sure many have yet to read. Read the section called "indemnity". Some very interesting facts that most will now understand why some discussions are deleted for apparently no reasons. That's how I read it anyhow. Please read this whole page as well as the page "privacy" Very interesting but slightly disturbing. reading these it is really starting to make me wonder how safe any of us are here in a sense of deletions, earings loss and privacy.

Well this right here exsplains a good 80% of posts being deleted....
"myLot prohibits any of the following items to be posted: telephone numbers, email address, street addresses, last names, and any obscene, lewd, excessively violent, harassing, sexually explicit or otherwise objectionable subject matter. "

from this link under the area marked:
"Content Posted.
myLot reserves the right to delete any discussion and adjust earnings for any discussion that in the judgment of myLot or "any Member" violates this Agreement or which may be offensive, illegal or violate the rights, harm, or threaten the safety of any person. myLot assumes no responsibility for monitoring the myLot services for inappropriate content or conduct. If at any time myLot chooses, in its sole discretion, to monitor the myLot services, myLot nonetheless assumes no responsibility for the content, no obligation to modify or remove any inappropriate content, and no responsibility for the conduct of the member submitting any such content."
This is the one that gets me. If I understand it any complaint by any member can cause a discussion to be deleted for any reason deemed fit by said member.

I took that as it’s saying Mylot is not obligated to remove posts just because it's a violation. Meaning it's to their discretion to do so or not do so.

Well yesterday I made a post it so happens it was deleted this morning when i woke up, I just don't understand are people not allowed to vent here.. I was just upset that I work very hard on this site, It had it had nothing to do with disrespect or anything in that sort... How ever I was attacked by one lady that was just totally rude and that's probley why it was deleted.. I just don't get it.. Ahh well I learned that I won't express my feelings on how I feel about this site anymore.. It just gets frustrating after awhile when we try and well you know the rest.. Happy Posting!!

But so many people agreed though... The funny thing was I didn't lose anything from it being deleted I just hope no one else did either... I feel bad for anyone that did reply but yet I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt that way..

One thing that gets deleted fast are discussion about the unhappiness of pay earnings etc here. I've learned that as well.

One thing I never saw listed anywhere is the fact that if one of your referrals "quits" you lose all of the money you earned from that referral even though all of their discussions are still kept on the site. I learned this after I asked the site why I lost all of my referral earnings one month and was told they had "quit" the site.
Bottom line is - you accept what the site does OR you go somewhere else.

The events you mention about the earnings loss are described in this link as well. It's very good reading and I've learned all too much now after todays events with a couple friends and their problems/issues with mylot glitches etc. Thanks for the response also. Much appreciated.

I have read this before but it is a little discouraging when they can delete or change your earnings for no reason whatsoever. But that's what I signed up for so I deal with it. It is a privately owned website so they have the control, we don't.
It is just a bit pathetic when someone can complain about another member for no other reason than they don't like you and have a topic deleted. I just kind of throw my hands up about it and say, oh well. If I want to stay on here I accept it as part of the deal. It may not be fair but few things in life are.
Boy oh boy if that ain't just depressing! LOL

Thank you for your input. This is a very disturbing and unnerving issue here as of late the deletions for no reason. Some are in no way a violation yet they get dumped. Oh well. Life goesw on as it's so nicely said many times in life. Ugg! HAHAHA!

I think the statement "myLot reserves the right to remove posts or adjust earnings for ANY REASON" says it all. I'm spending more and more time at "Y" too and like it a lot better. I like the clubs you can make and the message boards that go along with them. I think I'll change my avatar tho'.
Fortunately, I haven't earned that much in the last few months to worry about my loss.

Thanks for reminding us about the guidelines. I have read them but over time you tend to forget some of them. Oh well, we aren't the boss, we all have rules to follow. I liked you last statement about privacy and being safe. I do think we all need to be more careful. I think some of us let our guards down with each other. We do become friends and get to know each other and some of us start to care what happens to each other. Some have exchanged email and home address. We do need to always be aware that others can read about us too. Good post, I hope lots of folks read this.

This isn't about the guidelines actually. As the heading
states it's about the "terms of agreement" which we agree to.
Thanks for the response.

People don't understand why their discussions are deleted because they don't bother reading what they are agreeing to...just as Grandpa Bob said.

thanks for highlighting this again. went through and read it carefully. well, guess the terms are fair enough to me. and I haven't been getting spam from mylot into my email address so whatever info they are selling to third parties is not too intrusive.
I'm not very aware when it comes to deleted discussions. I don't remember where and how many discussions I've started so if a couple were deleted usually I'd be none the wiser. :)

What disturbs me the most is the contradictions in that agreement. In one paragraph is says that obscene and lewd discussions are not allowed and just below that it says discussions may contain inappropriate, offensive and sexually explicit language and to use your adult content button if you don't like it. I've seen quite a few discussions that don't get deleted and to me are offensive but I just don't respond to them. But hey, I'm the "older" generation and probably have higher moral standards than some of those people. I say to each his own. If someone gets off writing and reading smut good luck to them and I hope they have a good shrink...lol. By the way....this is exactly what I was referring to in one of my discussions. If you agree to all of these terms you shouldn't go around complaining about your deleted discussions and money deducted from your earnings. I guess I've been good because I never had one deleted and never lost any money. It's not so hard to keep to the rules and still have a good time. Thanks for letting me vent here. Awesome topic!

Wow. This is all very interesting.
I assume that since everyone is referring to the other site as "Y" that you're not allowed to post the name? I think I read about it a couple of days ago but I can't remember the name . . .

Yes, well, My Lot admin have obviously attempted to cover themselves legally. Which is fair enough. They have an extensive range of discussions not allowed. I can agree with this too. The question is... how do they monitor it?
Partly they would use a script that predetermines certain words that are banned.
But I also think there is a group of "police" either officially or unoffocially recognised by admin, who monitor posts, & recommend what should be deleted. I doubt whether this is done 100% fairly.
I am on another forum very similar to My Lot, & I read there today that there is a "spy" on My lOt.

Thank you Granpa Bob for the information. I have not read the page due to lack of time, but I have noted the link in my note pad so that I can read it later. After all we have to keep in mind all the major rules and guidelines of mylot as far as we continue here.
