If you could CHANGE the world with one IDEA - what would it be?

Most of you know about the little boy that started a trend with his Pay It Forward kindness, that changed the lifes of many people around the world. I was so inspired after I saw the movie, and wanted to continue with the project of his here. It failed however, and I tried to keep it going for 7 months. I still wonder why people are so slefish, and do not even try to do someone a favor or a kindness without expecting anything in exchange...
If you could think of one idea that might change the world what would this idea be? And would you believe in it even if everyone of your friends and family would tell you to not even try as it will fail?

First, I love the movie Pay it Forward.
Second, I wish that I could be one of those people who could have that one idea that just sets off the world to do great things. I think all the best you can ask for is, as cliche' as it sounds, to treat others as you wish to be treated. Treat people with kindness and hopefully this will return to you.
It's not an original idea but thats the best I can come up with.
I always believe in myself, so of course I'd believe in it even if everyone else disagreed :)

Hi Raychill, and thank you for your contribution :) And I agree with you fully - it doesn't really matter what you do, or if you come up with an idea that everyone will follow, becuse while doing what your heart tells you to you are making a difference :)

hi thefortunes... i think my idea will be the same like you... promote love... unconditional love to others... we always have expectation from other people and we never want to do anything for other people if we don't get anything in return... this is the nature of sinful people, including me... but i try my best to change and i agree with you... i think this world will be a much better place if we can learn to love one another unconditionally...

if given the power to change this world, what about all people die at a same definite age and that they cannot be decapitated or deformed, and they dont get sick in whatever manner.. for instancce 70...
if such should be the case.
people will no longer kill each other because it is non sense.
struggle in life will only be money for good life.
i dont know... but what if

Hi Scarlet, and thank you for your responce. There is something in your idea that might work. Unfortunately we are not machines, and such a possibility might be doable only if we had some kind of a mechanism in us that stoped working at a certain time :)

Thanks Balasri, if each and everyone of us would bring some loving, or a good deed the world would be the way it was meant :)

My idea is that every religion is the true religion. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian , jewish, Muslim, Hindu,Wicca, etc.Whatever path you follow is the correct. And no religion is better than any another. It will never happen but I can hope.why are people so selfish? Because they weren't taught to think about others. Everyone is so busy going for what they need and want that they don't even think about anyone else.

Hi Sarahruthbeth, and thank you for your contribution. If indeed people would be less busy with only themselves, and what they would like to achieve and have, or be, life would be so much nicer for everyone around us - which will make us happier, and more fullfilled, wouldn't it ;)

I saw PAY IT FORWARD too. It is a good movie that will really inspire you to do something for the human race. To change the world to a better place to live in is something man should think. We all come and go for a reason I believe. To do good to a person you hardly know would make a little change for that person.

Hi MisterPlus, and thank you for your responce in this discussion. When doing something good for an other person, it could mean the world to him/her. We never know really. And I simply sish that more people would be selfless enough to do this as often as possible in their lives.

I would like everyone to see the spirit of God in each and everybody. This way nobody would stoop low or hurt another. There would be love and understanding in this world, which we so desperately need. Religion just makes us differentiate from one another. There should be only one religion, and that is love for humanity. Selfishness is something inbred, which grows with us. We must try our best to be unselfish and that can only happen if we see God in all. I pray every day to God to make me less selfish day by day.

Hi THEFORTUNES;
Why people are so selfish?
Because they are not given any interest for their desire on that issue. Let say they will get pay or earn, they will join. Same thing happening on myLot, if myLot does not create the earnings, members will turn to selfish.
If I could think of one idea that might change the world what would the idea be?. I will continue the research left by the late Professor John Nash about the equilibrium systems to make peoples in this world buying without credit. Just a piece of smart card can purchase things on cash element of transaction.
Yes and sure. I have to face greatly on the opponents' contradiction. Even though world population against on my idea, I must keep going. Just like Thomas Edison until the 10,000 tested filaments met the succession. It is normal thing to have, once failure nobody will believe but after successful people will put envious element. The same person for do not believe and take envy. We must moving forward for our visions, missions and objectives.

Hiya Michael, and thank you for your contribution in this discussion ;)
I think being selfish, or not, is mostly about the upbringing people had. Unselfishness should be the first thing that we get from our parents, but unfortunately - it is not so :(
And I wish you success with what you are trying to achieve, buying without credit. Similar things have been tried here in The Netherlands too, like doing something for someone, and getting repaid with an other service done by someone else, who repaid this way the person you did a work for. A kind of exchange instead of payment. It had not much success however, but maybe your idea will have more success? Good luck with it my friend ;)
