I have got a lung infection which makes it really hard to lay down. I have had this nearly three weeks cause I was too cheap to go get the antibotics (plus I really hate going to doctors) until yesturday. What do you do to help discomfort from really bad colds?

drink lots of fluid friend, if you have vaporizer or a steam inhaler, treat yourself to one, it will help you breath easily

Thanks a lot sharoncastillo! I am feeling a bit better. Lots of fluids is so important and I try hard to get enough in.

Lung infection? I take it you have gone to the Doctor if not you need to go... I don't like going than again no one does either but a lung infection can be really bad and possibly cause damage to your lungs.. If you have seen a doctor take your medication if not get to one so they can give you medications to help clear it up.. The best to you...

I did finally go at the serious urging of my fam. I am feeling a bit better. I do have damage from past amonia (sorry spelling) I had so when I get sick now it always goes to my lungs. Plus I smoked for too many years and caused damage. Bad Bad I know.

I did finally go and get the antibotics. Feeling a tad bit better but the nights are still very hard. Sorry to hear you go through the same things. Horrible stuff!

I am so sorry to hear that you don't feel well. Perhaps you are too tired and therefore it is easy to feel ill. You really need a good rest. Drink more water and I heard the chicken soup is very helpful for the cold. I hope you will recover soon.

I am finally better. It was a month long. The lack of being able to sleep well was the hardest thing on my system. I was too tired to fight it off. But with medication and rest I am finally back in the groove. Thanks youless for your kind words!!

You silly silly woman Vic. You know you can die from this? As a responsible parrent you should consider your kids, wether you like to go to the dr's or not. Sorry hunni, its not ment as hard as said, just advice from a friend to a friend. no offence, ok? Unfortunately cold like illness do not to my knowledge have any kind of cure but time. But i find that any type of mild pain killers such as paracetamol has a, tho little, but comforting affect as most of them help reduce the fever caused by the cold flu or infection and its mostly the fever that make you uncomfortable. However i see this discussion is posted a week ago and hopefully you are up and running again. I sure hope so, if not, get well soon my friend. God bless

I am finally doing better and I am not offended at all by your post. My family and friends give me a very hard time on neglecting myself and it isn't good to do that to the kids.

Hi Vic, its not good enuf to be aware about it as long as you do not live by it. Think of your kids, they need you arround til they are fully dressed to manage without you. :)

Keep on your back so your body isn't straining and your air passage is a bit different (it does help reduce the coughing and restriction a bit). Take a hot shower to get steam into the system and open up some passages. Eat tomatoes, potatoes, bananas to increase serotonin. Get vitamins B, C and potassium to boost immunity and cellular function.
