It had to happen!

Well welcome to . I think it is interesting to have a low star rating yet post awesome responses and discussions. The only drawback is some people here have trouble trusting low star posters even with the known abuse of the system.

I can sympathize with that one. Mine went from a 10 down to a 6 a few months ago and it never recovered. the funny thing is that I didn't even notice when it first started to happen. A friend had to point it out to me. I guess it's just something that we all have to deal with when we speak our minds and we sometimes have opinions that differ from others. Sometimes it's rough not being "politically correct" or going along with popular belief. But, stars really don't mean all that much, do they? The most important thing is staying true to yourself.

I am so sorry to hear that things like this are still going on pal , This is the reason I have movedelsewhere , I amm just popping in now and again to see my friends , I answer a couple of discussions in here every day and thats enough for me , This site was getting just tooooo stressful , take care pal xxxx

I do support u dude... still me too facin the same problem... what this monks r doin there...? still im confused why my star rating never goes beyond a limit... im just screwwed up... i think i had to work too hard to increase my star rating and all.. som guys just help me by responding my discussions...plz

I believe that there are many ways in which a star rating is arrived at. I seriously do not believe that, especially with over 7000 posts to your name, any one or a few people could materially affect your rating by systematically going through your discussions and rating you negative. MyLot, in their usual cryptic way, do not tell us what star ratings actually mean (in real terms) or exactly how they are arrived at. They merely say that they are an indication of 'popularity'. This could be based on a number of factors - +/- ratings, number of responses to discussions, number of discussions posted in relation to responses or a mix of these and, besides, possibly, a running average with recent activity making more of a difference to the score than past activity. Since there seems to be little practical value to the star ratings and no real explanation of what they mean, I generally disregard them. I very often find that discussions by some 10-stars are bland and uninteresting in comparison with those of lower ratings. I guess if you stick your neck out and become interesting, one also runs the risk of being controversial and some people may hit on you for that.

I truly wish they would eliminate the star ratings. They are worthless to me. My friends are my friends. I value their comments and opinions. We should not be given a low rating for sharing. Big huggers to you. You are always a 10 in my eyes.

What was your rating before?? You were a '10' werent you?? That whole star thing is just nuts really...I, much like you, never really cared for it either but yea it is pretty amazing how petty some ppl are...yet its comical in a way, I mean how sad and pathetic must ones life be ya know..

Im sorry to hear this. But try not to let it get you too down. They succeeded in what they wanted to do. I think its really quite childish dont you? Well I say get on with life its not the worst thing that can happen. Learn to turn your head and laugh.LOL

Hello whiteheather. Sorry to hear that this is still going on. Had hopes that MyLot had taken care of this problem, but well I guess you can't get them all. But their will always be someone who tries to abuse the system. That's why I think it would be better to place the ratings on something like an automatic system, depending on a persons activity rate, quality of discussions, and quality of answers they give. It's apparent that some MyLotters don't know how to continue to be adults on here, and aren't capable enough to let a few disagreements go. I wish you all the best my friend, and hope this gets taken care of soon.

I am so sorry to hear about your star level going down. I can relate mine went down also but I speak the trust and do not care who likes it. I can only be Me and You keep being You and screw them.

To tell you the truth, I don't pay attention to the stars at all just the content of the discussion an individual has, and whether or not I want to respond. With your discussions, I don't think it will take much to get that star number back up there!

It definitely wasn't me, as you would know. I always rate you +. I guess there still are, and always will be people out there who can't stand someone having a different opinion to themselves. It's quite immature. I will make a point of finding other discussions of yours that I may not have responded to & rate them +. Your star will soon move back up.

I still don't get it. How can anyone reduce another's star rating? I don't take any notice of it anyway, I don't think it helps us earn any more. Sorry this has happened to you mate.

Obviously they didn't know you very well sweets - even I know you don't set much stock by the star ratings! I can't understand someone doing that bur I suppose it take all sorts to make the world go round! I like your discussions honey! xxx

Hi there, it's pretty bad that there are some people here in mylot who just want to do bad things and make other people feel bad about it too. I just don't understand, why they have to do that? Well, i do care about my star rating here, even we say that there nothing it can do to add some cents to my earnings, still i worked so hard for it, i gave too much efforts to have my star rating and i know i deserves it coz i have many best responses, and i would really feel bad to see my star rating was down to low level. I was on the #10 before and for some reason that i don't know, i just woke up in the morning and when i checked my profile here, i see my Star Rating down into #9 and i feel so bad about it. I hope that those people who's doing the bad ratings will stop what their doing and just have fun here and not ruin other people's lives here. I wouldn't worry about it. Not everybody is going to agree but that's ok, it's what makes us an individual. Some people are just too imature to understand that. I support you and so do few others of us on here at mylot. Just blow it off because acknowledging it will probably get a laugh out of the perpetrator and only make it worse. Don't worry, I'll give you a +!!
