Discussions My Friends Started

I wish something could be done with the "discussions my friends started" section on myLot. It's just not that user-friendly. It would be helpful if once you responded to a friends discussion it moved to the end of the list but it doesn't. Plus the discussions move around in the list (and I can't really work out why) so you can't work your way through it methodically. I sometimes just click on each friends profile and look at their discussions from there but that's a pretty time-consuming way to do it. It would be much easier if there was something like a drop down list by each friends name. I've emailed myLot about it before so might do it again just in case they feel like being helpful lol! I'm sure there have been loads of discussions already about this but I haven't done one before so what do you think? Does anyone have any suggestions to make it easier?

I think every time there is a new response a topic gets bumped to the top of "The Discussions My friends Started" list, that's why it behaves so weirdly. it would be better if you could rank your friends in how important their discussions are so they all appear first, as there are certain friends I have who's discussions I look for first, and I hate receiving millions of email alerts so I keep them switched off.

I know - I hate receiving email alerts too. I suppose the problem is I have a few friends that start loads of new discussions but others that don't start nearly as many so their discussions get lost in amongst the more prolific posters ones. I found myself responding to the same people all the time and others were getting overlooked. I think a ranking system would be good.

It does get cumbersome. Just now I almost rereplied to a thread of yours I already replied to. Well its not just the system, I'm getting senile here. But I'm all for an easier way to handle the situation. A drop down box or check list would be great!

Ah yes - I read your discussion about your senility problem. If you feel that way at your age imagine how someone of my advancing years feels trying to cope with the quirks of myLot! Actually I've responded to the same discussion twice quite a few times. It's ok if you say the same thing on both occasions but otherwise it looks a bit odd lol!

Yeah - we do need a new section fo Discussions My Friends Started That I have responded to. I have responded to a discussion, & then a few days later, I go through that list of disccussions started by my friends, & not remembering I had already responded to it, I end up responding to it again. This does not happen to methat often, but I am sure it has happened to others.

I've done that before - maybe I've responded to a discussion a week or so ago and I forget and respond to it again. It's annoying!

I've only got some of my friends on my email list (most of them have gone to the dark side so they seldom spend much time here), this made it easier for me to see the ones that are more important for me to respond to. I also use the 'discussions my friends start' list as well, and I think what happens is that when someone responds to these, the latest one moves to the top of the list (although I think that only happens sometimes.)

I think that does happen sometimes although I've tried to detect some kind of pattern with it but haven't succeeded so far. It's all a bit random lol! Thanks for responding Eskimo.

Hi there, well i do understand you concern and i also liked that idea of yours. However buddy, Mylot is still on the progress of knowing and adding contents in this site for some new improvements. And yeah, you did a good job when you emailed the admin about your suggestions, coz it can really help for mylot to consider a lot of things before implementing some changes here. Who knows? You're not the only one who emailed mylot with the same concerns like yours. Have a nice day ahead from Kiko and happy posting and earning here in MyLot and Godspeed.

Gosh I am having the same problem as you. I like to respond to my friends discussions first before moving on to top or new discussions. It gets hard because there isn't a way of removing ones I already responded to so I know I am missing some cause I just can't get to them.

I know it's annoying! And really I did try having notify on for all my friends discussions but my inbox was just full of them lol! I keep meaning to start a new email address just for myLot but I've never got round to doing it yet. Thanks for your response vicki2876

Hi Stiletto well I have mine set to send to my Email as soon as a Friend starts one which I find is the easiest way just put the Notification on to the Friends who you want the Mail from and it will come to your Addy that is how I keep track

Yes I used to have notify turned on for everyone but I got so many emails my inbox was full all the time! I think what I might do is start a new email address just for myLot and then turn all the notifies on again. It might be easier to keep track that way. Thanks x

Generally when I'm here on Mylot I watch the new discussion because I would like to see if there are good discussions from people that are not my friends and maybe I could become friend. However, I watch secondly the discussions my friends started so I can be helpful with my friends.

I tend to look mainly at the "Top Discussions" and "Hot Topics". I must admit I rarely look at "New Discussions" but I do sometimes because as you say it's good to not just stick with the same group all the time. Thanks for your response.
