Which is the most comfortable to sleep on of all?? Bed should be the most obvious choice for all, but is there anyone with a different opinion, share it..For me, i started out sleeping on mattress on the floor for almost 20yrs b4 i got my own bed.. When i slept on the bed, it was so comfortable that i could doze off right away :) LOL.. But as i sleep longer, i still prefer my mattress on the floor as its much cooler.. haha.. How about u??

I sleep on one of those really comfortable foam mattresses, on the floor. When we moved into our apartment, there wasn't any furnishing really, and we didn't own any furniture, except our couch and computer desk. We kept talking about buying a cheap bed frame, but honestly neither my husband nor I really minds sleeping on the floor. Our mattress is very comfortable, and honestly it's safer for me with my vertigo... it makes getting up in the morning easier if I can crawl straight onto the floor and over to the wall first rather than trying to stand up from a bed.

Yup, foam mattress is indeed comfortable, is just like sleeping on a bed without frames to make it a proper bed :) But my mattress are those really thin ones but they are equally comfortable as i get to feel the coolest from directly below me ;)

ive slept on many different things in the past 6 months. i am pregnant and a true test would be have a pregnant women sleep on various things.. lol.. i went from sleeping on a mattress on the floor, to a mattress on a bed, to a double stuff extra thick air mattress, to a king size one layered air mattress to a futon.. Now i have two crib mattresse under the futon matress and for me so far this seems to be the most comforatable.. sounds funny i know... but when you cant sleep and cant sleepin comforatble posituions you sleep wehre you can no matter how odd it sounds .. as long as your comfy right?? LOL i used to like the floor.. when i was a teenager my mother had this HUGE solid wod coffee table... i used to put a twin size mattress on it ( thats how big it was) and sleep on that it was my most favorite "bed" ever for at least 2 years!

I'm not particular about sleeping in bed or in mattress. at home I sleep on a mattress on the floor. and I'm comfortable with it. but I can have a comfortable sleep too on bed. they're both soft afterall. ^__^
I can also sleep with only a thin mat or carpet as long as I have a pillow. ^__^ but sometimes if I sleep too long i'll have a backache the next day. ^_^;;

I'm such a sleepy head that I can sleep on any surface LOL. I'm perfectly fine with those portable air beds, which I use when traveling. I'm also perfectly fine sleeping on a carpeted floor, especially clean ones like in hotels. The hard surface can actually help improve my posture since I'm usually slouched.

and when i am really sleepy i can also sleep even on sofa! as long as there's my blanket and fan

hehe ^_^ Then did u managed to kick your husband down the bed?? lol What's the difference in transfer the mattress down to the floor when u will be moving around too much as well?? It will still kinda affect him.. hehe
If i'm sleeping on the floor, i will rather be sleeping on the cold hard floor as it's cooler.. hehe ^_^ Sleeping on sofa is of no problem for me but it's a bit warm.. haha =D

lol =D Limited? Meaning?? U have to control yourself to prevent kicking them off the bed?? lol =D
Maybe sleeping on a blanket should be good as it's thick enough but it does not make your body ache as much ^_^ If it's really aching, i can offer massage servie though!! lol =D For 1 peso per session, lasting 2hrs.. lol =D

we transfer the mattress on the floor coz we don't have anything to use in the floor...and i can't sleep straight on the floor or with just a thin cover coz for sure when i wake up in the morning my body will be aching...and my lungs is not that strong to colds...
the difference is that when we are on the floor, even if i fall then it does not affect me or him...hehehe unlike in the bed and i feel more free on the floor! hehehe
coz in bed i feel like my moves are limited...

it will really depend on the room that I am sleeping in.
I have had the luxury of a bed all my life. And I appreciate being able to sleep on one.
When I was in camp, I prefer to sleep with the mattress on the floor as it is way cooler than sleeping on the bed.
Otherwise, it is always the bed rather than the floor. Unless I am visiting someone and putting up temporary at their home. Of course, between a sofa and the floor during these temporary stays, I would much prefer the sofa.

Yep, I do appreciate the fact that I am lucky to have a bed to myself.
I guess it is a matter of habit. Once you are so used to sleeping on the floor, it is hard to change the habit.
Just like some people are used to soft beds and others used to hard ones.
It is a matter of habit and comfort.

My current bed is very very comfortable. But I enjoy sleeping on a mattress on the floor if it's a good one. There are some baby mattresses that have holes in them (so that the baby doesn't suffocate if they flip and sleep face down in the night) and they are very comfortable too.
I don't think I could sleep directly on the floor, army style. Would wake up with a real bad backache.

Bro.. I agree..
Sleeping on the floor with a mattress is really awesome. Can move about freely, lots of space and I can doze off easily. But like one of your responders have said, it might cause backache. I totally agree too.
So how..I still have to make do with the bed. Another alternative? To buy those Japanese mattress; you know without the poles. That one looks cool and I won't suffer backache. So win-win situation..

lol =D If one has got a bed, it's not as bad because we dun go underneath it.. BUt it's a completely different story when we are sleeping on the floor instead.. lol =D IMagine a ball of dust just near to us, appearing from dunno which corner of the room?? lol
IT's good to be hardworking in that sense, but u might get addicted to it, for all u know.. lol =D
Support pillow definitely does not suit me, and to think my mom spent hundreds to get for my whole family of 4!! It's such a waste!! hehe

LOL .. you are right, bro.. makes me remember of all those dusty corners creeping under the bed. Like I have the time to vacuum the whole time, ha...
But I tend to get round to it because lately, I've been having some hardworking streaks in me. But I doubt it'll last long.
As for the support pillow, sometimes these products work for others and not for us. Lying down with hands underneath? The best option for me too, until it feels cramped then I'll use back the pillow.

It's the floor for me! No doubt about it! Lol, when I can't sleep in the night, I will just switch from my mattress to my floor and I will be bound to doze off almost immediately!
I had been sleeping on a bed for about 18 years or so before deciding that the bed frame takes up too much space in my room. So, just about 2 years back, I decided to get rid of it and put my mattress on the floor! It was a decision that I had never regretted as sleeping on the mattress on the floor is just so convenient! Lol, if I can't fall asleep finding that it's just too warm, I could switch over to the floor without even having to get up and move downwards!
Sleeping on the floor is so cooling, and there is no need for artificial wind like the air con or the fan to be turned on, and that is something which I really like. We have marble flooring in my house, and that is even cooler when it starts to rain, especially now during the monsoon season! It's a luxury in life that not many people have the chance to enjoy.
Try sleeping on the floor the next time it starts to rain! I am sure you will get addicted to it as well!

lol =D U are the 1st whom i known that u ditched your bed for the mattress on the floor?? haha ^_^ That's surprising for me to hear that from u.. lol I'm almost complete opposit from u, sleeping on the floor for almost 22 yrs before swutching to bed for the past 2 yrs, and how i like the feeling of sleeping on bed instead on floor.. lol =D
They are 2 complete feelings, though the mattress is much more cooler and convenient, but i just cant imagine u sleeping on the floor.. haha ^_^ I like to sleep on the mattress but not the floor, because it's too hard for me, and at most, i will only lie till my body is cool and i will roll back on my mattress again.. haha

Lol, as I have said, I am unique and not manny people are like me! Wahhaha.. ain't i thick skinned!! Well, I love hard surface, and the floor just sort of fit what I am looking for. Stability la.. Too soft a bed is just plain uncomfortable for me as compared to sleeping on a hard surface. Even my mattress is the hard surface sort and not the soft ones!
Hehe.. pampered boy like all other Singaporeans =X Most Singaporeans will prefer to sleep on the bed rather than the floor.. maybe it's a habit brought over from young. Who knows? Or is because our parents will always tells us its better to elevate our beds away from the floor as there's moisture on the floor which isn't good for our bodies. Lol.

I'm not a pampered boy hor.. I'm being deprived from my bed for at least 20 yrs, before i finally get to sleep on one again wor.. haha =D So, i must cherish the chance well, if not, i will end up sleeping on the mattress on the floor again.. Though i dun really mind, but when there's a better choice, naturally we will go for the better one ^_^ lol
AM i more thick skinned than u?? lol =P

Hi,
For me it all depends on the climate. If it is hot, just the floor will do...During fall, need matres and definetly bed in winter.. But I do prefer thin mattress because thick and soft mattresses aggravate the back pain and it isnt good for our back. Also I cant sleep on floor for more than two days consecutively because again I get muscle cramps.

I guess alot depends on the weather as well as one's individual body ^_^ Some might be suited for soft mattress while some might not.. hehe ^_^
As long as u know what your body needs at the right time, and being able to sleep comfortably, it will be good ^_^

True, it all depends on weather...It is the main culprit...i take my body into consideration later hi hi...In my childhood, I slept on soft mattress for more than 6-7 years and back pain surface, I switched to a harder matress and fely better...Now I can sleep on soft mattress for say a few days or months but not definetly years...the damage has been done, it seems.

I like sleeping on a rug floor. I've been doing it all summer. Maybe I just felt a little tired sleeping on my puffy bed and wanted a change. It is pretty comfortable and I have no trouble falling asleep. I think it's great to sleep on the floor and possibly save me the money of buying a mattress in the future. It does hurt a little when I turn though since the floor is still hard even with a rug layer

RUg floor?? That should be quite comfortable enough.. hehe ^_^ IT's good to have some changes at times because we tend to get used to things after some time.. NO matter how comfortable it can be, we will yearn for changes.. haha =D
Buy a thin mattress then ^_^ Just for standby if u are planning to sleep on the floor.. hehe

I prefer to sleep on my bed which is a platform bed with a foam mattress. The foam mattress is very firm which is good for my aching back, and gives me a quality night's sleep. Also, when you turn over or move around you will not wake your partner for the bed/mattress doesn't move when you do. Which makes for a long and healthy relationship

I've almost always slept on a tradional bed, so for me bed is the most obvious choice of all. I always sleep very well when I am in my bed, but on the occasions when I've had to sleep on the floor or when I've slept on a matress on the floor I don't seem to sleep nearly as well. I think that the reason behind this is that it feels harder to me in the long run and I feel pressure points in my sleep. I've got back problems so the fewer pressure points that I am able to feel while I am sleeping the better.

I like to sleep on the mattress on the floor very much, because it's very hot day, so I won't feel very hot than bed if I slep the matress on the floor.
