In my opinion, Intel is better when its comes to comparing performance between either of the two. I don't know if this is correct, but I heard that AMD processors are suitable for just games. Intel is for business and whatever. Correct me if I am wrong with that. Besides, I just read it in some column months ago. So I think Intel is definitely better than AMD. and I even use an Intel processor. Best of luck to you!

There is two things...to consider one is money and another is performance. So if money is the prime factor in ur budget in buying a new CPU then AMD will be best suited but if performance is the only thing u r considering...then Intel is way ahead of AMD in the platform of Core 2 Duo or upcoming Quad Core.

Intel is better for processing and definitely better if you are getting a laptop. AMD is good for desktops and gaming. AMD is also bridging the gap from them to Intels processors especially mobile ones. So stay tuned.

AMD processors are cheaper indeed. Are AMD less efficient than INTEL? I don't think the price is something that tell something about a product. The problem is that INTEL processors wore the first in this business. AMD had to compensate with something to attract buyers and they had to make them cheaper.
I have a AMD and i like how does it work.

performance wise AMD is the best, because its never hang you pc, where intel goes hang your pc. second thing, AMD get too much hot than intel. If your CPU Fan doesnt work in AMD you CPU will be burn, and in Intel If CPU Fan doesnt work you processor will be remain as it is.
but performance wise AMD is best
