Do you watch quiz shows and try answer the questions to improve your knowledge? Do you find Quiz shows actually increase your intelligence
Or do you find they fill your head with useless facts and data?
Aren't quiz shows a great way of learning more? Through watching tv you are actually learning something?
By actually keeping your brain active and ticking you are keeping your head healthy and it helps to sharpen and hone your brain power!
What quiz programmes do you like to watch that you actually learn something from?
I like Weakest Link and shows with quickfire general knowledge questions!

Yes, those shows are interesting. I just can't help myself from trying to answer those questions. But I think they're really useless facts, well maybe some are quite useful. But I bet that if those questions would be asked to me one month from when I heard it, most probably I won't remember. Then I'll probabaly end up hating myself for forgetting it, when it would be just at the tip of my tongue.

I wasn't very good at The Weakest Link but I loved Who wants to be A Millionaire and am now enjoying 1 VS 100. I also like Temptation...especially the 60 second fast round.
I watch these shows and enjoy them, not because it gives me a chance to improve my knowledge but it give me a chance to AIR my knowledge. I don't think I actually retain any of the info I learn from these shows...it's a case of in one ear and out the other I fear.

We sometimes watch Jeopardy, and we are always trying to second guess the contestants. I have not watched the other shows that much - too busy on myLot, and writing. I have not watched Weakest Link for sometime, but there are few here that are very interesting.

I like watching Quiz shows. They not only helps u gain information and knowledge but also test ur knowledge and u may find it interesting to evaluate urself without going to any academy or teacher or spending any money.
Informative TV programmes like documentry ones are imparting u knowledge and quiz shows test that knowledge.

There is no such thing as useless trivia, it is only trivia that you have not needed YET!
I am not sure if they are a way of learning, but they are sure fun to match wits against the contestants.
I really don't watch any at this point. My employment situation really does not give me the chance to watch much of these kidns of things.

Yes, i believe that quiz shows do enhances our memory and somehow adds our knowledge. If we regularly watch qui shows, we gain knowledge, new lessons that are not familiar to us. So aside from reading, do watch quiz shows with a lot of trivia and facts which it shares to its contestants and televiewers.

I love quiz shows..especially the weakest link lol..What pisses me off though is when they don't bank for a long time then lose the money because they get it wrong lol!!
I also like who wants to be a millionaire and get to know a lot of the weird and wacky questions lol..

Again, it all depends of how you define intelligence
i personally think that it all depends on the personalitty the person has developed,
there are people that have great memory and will remember all of the facts but will not develope with them no where.
And there are the people that will take all of those facts that they equired in the quiz games and go on and read about them.
But it is always good to have the quiz games because they always give an opportunitty to develop things.

I have always liked most quiz shows, wolfie. In their heyday quiz shows were a huge part of daytime tv. I think they do increase your knowledge-especially if you like trivia. I enjoy Family Feud, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, and my all-time favorite, Jeopardy! I don't watch them as faithfully as I once did, but I do get to catch them from time to time.
