When your in your own home do you walk around your house without your shoes on? In my last house we had hardwood floors so I always wore either slippers or shoes. Now in this house Im constantly barefoot. I love to feel the carpet on my feet.LOL Dont you? Now my husband always has socks on so I said to him the other day do you ever go barefoot? His answer no I never do. Share with me.

I kid with people and tell them I'm actually a Hobbit, as Hobbits always walk barefoot..LOL...I can't remember at all the last time I actually wore shoes in my home...I don't even like wearing shoes if I'm visiting my friends and since they've gotten used to my oddity of not wanting to wear shoes while visiting them, they put up with it..LOL--I just don't like wearing shoes!! Here it is October and I'm still wearing my sandals cause I just can't bring myself to wear a closed shoe yet--hehe
Okay say it Terry..I'm strange.

I wouldnt think you were strange either Pye. You can stop by my house and take off your shoes anytime youd like! ;)
Me and most of my friends actually would rather our company to take their shoes off. Its hard enough to keep the floors clean without shoes tracking in dirt all over.

In our own home...all the time except in the winter then it's socks or slippers or both. In other ppl's home (even family) nope. Outside...I used to when I was a kid but now that I'm older I don't.

Here I sit in my barefeet and think about those who shouldn't and do walk around without protection on their feet.
One of my clients walks around barefoot despite the fact that she is diabetic. She is a quilter and I find pins and needles on her floors and tell her that she should wear slippers to protect her feet. If she injures her foot, it may not heal well and further complications can occur.
Even when I go barefoot I know I risk getting my toes caught in some piece of furniture that is hell bent on having me connect my tender tootsies in it. About 20 years ago I broke one of my piggie toes. That was painful. I hobbled around for 2 weeks in pain. My son came over and gave me a hug one night and stepped on my foot. I heard a loud pop and yelped out in pain. He fixed the problem for me.

I was born barefoot and I'll bet I'll die barefoot. As a child I walked around all over the place in my bare feet. I have many times gone outside in the winter to get something and have walked on snow in my bare feet. In the winter time I have bare feet in my boots. I absolutely can not wear socks it doesn't matter which kind I wear they fall off in my shoes or boots and all that does is make me mad and my feet sore. In 1967 for our centeninal some of my friends made the choice to quit smoking, some went on diets and two of my girlfriends and I chose to walk to the next city. That was a 12 mile hike, and yeap you guessed it I walked most of it in my barefeet. Those were the days. If I buy tighter socks then they make my feet swell. I have arthritis and crippled up toes of course but there's nothing that feels better than barefeet. I wear sandles in the summer time. If going to someone elses house I take a pair of slippers or socks while I'm there, but I can never wait to come home to kick off footwear. I think it was a waste of time to invent socks and hats, hehehe. Guess I'm just a tough ol' girl Take care.

When I was young, I used to go barefoot, and loved it. Now that I have arthritis in my feet, it is too uncomfortable. I was told by my Rheumatologist, not to go barefoot, and to wear the proper shoes, so that's what I do. I can't stand shoes without the right kind of support. My feet hurts all the time, so barefoot is out, for me.

My mom told me that when I was a kid that she couldnt keep any type of clothing on me! Including shoes. I would take off dresses, shirt, shorts, underwear and run right out the front door before she could catch me. lol
I cant stand shoes to this day. I wont mention what else I go around the house without. Haha My husband likes to go barefoot too. As soon as he is done at the barn for the day, he takes off his boots and socks and slips on his fave flip flops. lol
I got a tattoo on my foot a couple of years ago, and I had to argue with the artist about putting it on my foot! He told me that it wasnt a good spot for one because the wearing of shoes and socks rubs it too much and it will fade way too fast. I told him not too worry, socks nor those kinds of shoes hardly touch my feet. Even in the winter time if Im just running to the store or something, Ill wear a pair of my sandals or flip flops hehe

We've always been a family that walks around barefoot. I'm not sure why, and hubby is the same way. That is the first thing I do when I get home from work...take off the shoes and socks! AH! relaxation!

The first thing off of me when I come home is my shoes! I can't stand wearing shoes or socks! I have always (according to my parents, even when I was young) preferred to go barefoot. My hubby can't stand to be barefot, but I believe it is more because he is embarrassed about his feet rather than the fact that he doesn't like the feel of being barefoot. He claims that his toes/feet are 'ugly.'

Funny you should mention this. I've always been a barefoot sort of girl but lately because I'm living in an area where there are lots of prickles and I'm in and outside a lot I usually am wearing shoes. I went barefoot inside the other day and noticed a weird uncomfortable sensation on the bottom of my toes. It felt awful, so I put my shoes back on...a sign of ageing I guess and One I don't like.

Hi Terry,
Anytime I am at home I don't have shoes or socks on. I always walk around my house bare foot. Also in the summer I don't wear socks at all. If I'm inside it's bare feet, and if I'm outside it's crocks (shoes with the holes everywhere) and you don't need socks on.

hi... i don't go barefoot, except in the bathrooms... it's a norm in our society to wear slippers at home... especially that we have hardwood floors at home.

I also go barefoot as much as I can indoors. I hate having something on my feet, especially on top of my feet. I love summer and wear sandals --never tennis shoes. I am not looking forward to putting them up this year. It's still in high 80's and low 90's here so I am still wearing my sandals...yay! However, at home...it's barefoot!!

I love barefeet. Unless its cold out. Then I walk the house barefeet its the best way to go. I have hot feet anyways and cant usually stand socks even when its cold if I am in bed. Where the feet are already covered. I have extra warm blood though so thats just me...

I like to walk barefoot, even in hardwood floors. It's comfortable to me and I indulge all the time.
It is not, however, the best thing to do. We should have at least some socks protecting our feet to avoid rough skin and other things, but it could also be worse :)
I don't like to walk barefoot outside though. MY feet might be a bit too sensitive for that. I have friends that will walk barefoot over everything in any terrains.Myself I can't. The only place outside where I will walk barefoot is in the sand , and it has to be nice clean sand.

We always wear slippers inside the house. But I don't allow the slippers inside the house, be used outside even at the garden. We have separate slippers for that and it stays outside the front door.
I don't walk barefoot because one, the floor is cold and there are times that I don't have the time to mop it. But my husband who's fond of walking barefoot, usually forgets to use his slippers and I just have to keep reminding him.
