I think the personality of teacher counts. A teacher is a leader and a leader should have a such personality that can impress his followers. A teacher is a role model for the pupils. A teacher should be well dressed and well mannered. What do you think there are other qualities a teacher's personality should have?

I am 23 and teach 6th graders. I relate to my students well because I remember the 6th grade. I remember all the changes my body was going through, my mind was going through, and I remember just always being SO CONFUSED.
I try to relate lessons to their lives so they can connect it with something. I feel like having a good relationship with your students is key. This works in my favor when they are having an off day and are misbehaving. I have respect for them, and they for me, so when I express disappointment in their behavior, it affects them more than any yelling or carrying on ever could.

I taught 6th when I was about your age, now I teach 4th, and I'm 32yrs. You really hit the nail on the head when you mentioned respect and relationship. That is key with that age, I'm sure you have some tough days but you seem to have it figured out. Good luck to you, I miss the older kids sometimes!

Yes indeed. A kind and encouraging teacher can really help a lot of students feel at ease and even with personal problems on occasions. Teachers that are the antithesis of this are rather troubling and discouraging.

Oh yes definitely, the personality of the teacher is such an important mark. It definitely is required to inspire the students, to bring to students into the attention of the subject, to make a mark in the students mind about the subject, and also to impress the students and make them realize that teaching is such a wonderful thing one can enjoy.
The dressing, the mannerism is so important because students will follow the teacher's approach and hence teachers need to me really good with their qualities open to the students.

Ofcourse, a teacher is the one who shows us avenues in our lives that give us value not only to each other but to ourselves. So their approach or personality lets us know if they're the type of person we would like to follow or just zone out.

I'm a teacher and I agree that sometimes actions speak louder than words. If a child is being disrespectful I've seen teachers give back that same attitude rather than rising above it and handling the tense situation calmly. I agree that teachers should dress well and have good manners. I cringe when I see fellow teachers show up to work in sweatpants or tell a student that their work is "garbage" Even if the kid rushed through the assignment or didn't care about it, the teacher should tell he/she to re-do it out of the public eye, letting that child know what is expected of them and give them a second chance to improve. You wouldn't believe what I see. Dare to ask?

I think that the personality of a teacher does count. Our children should and will model themselves after someone. I think that the teacher that they have, could set a good example. Sometimes people outside the family make the perfect mentors.

I do agree that teacher's personality is import, however, I think of other aspect from what you talked about. I feel that the most important personality a teacher should have is to stay optimise, and encourage students as much as they can.
