The general rule in my house is "catch and release" unless the bug is already hurting me/you or about to hurt or bite my dogs. My exhusband's rule was kill it first, ask questions later.

Yes i kill all of them. Once this flying bug stung me on my right foot in such a way that he got little injured & couldnt fly anymore. So what i did, for revenge, i put him on a peice of paper and set him on FIRE, now thats innovative hahahaha

If it's a roach, i'll kill it. Normally I take a piece of lemon grass stock , bruised it and place it near a warm lamp. The scent would keep mosts bugs away.
I also have a friendly gecko that visit my house and he does a fine job cleaning up the bugs.

Most insects I will catch and put outside. My daughter is always impressed by my aim with a Mason jar on a wasp. :) The only exceptions to this are a) flies, because of maggots . . . eww and b) cockroaches. Because come on, one can't help but be repulsed by those horrors . . . especially the Palmettos like we have here in Florida: two inches long and the sucekrs fly! What is UP with that?
